Kevin Sheedy, that master of footballing spin has endorsed Geelong as the most likely Victorian club to win the premiership this year. Gee, thanks Sheeds, that is just what our club needs..undue praise after beating last year's 16th ranked club. Sheedy knows that Geelong players read the papers too much and have been absolutely woefull when it came to playing decent football once they had got the nod from the footballing world. Two such examples of what I am talking about was when we lost our first ever game against Freo at Cat park. We were 7-2 and flying but we were pathetic in that game as Sandilands literally stood over us. Last year we were premiership favourites after two soft home wins and we thought we had it in the bag until we came a cropper against our bogey side the Hawks. The rest is Cat history and a familiar one at that.

In the article (above) he also states that Geelong has had 'all those draft picks', hmmm we have NEVER finished lower than 12th on the ladder so he must be getting us confused with bottom feeders Carlton and St Kilda. Maybe he reckons it is the Saints who are the most likely Vic club to win the flag and he's just having a giggle at our expense maybe?

Geelong must learn to deal with expectation if it is ever going to deliver what we've been waiting a lifetime for but for mine we not quite there yet, but if (mighty big word that one) our forwards can stand up and we can inject a little more pace into the midfield, we might actually get somewhere before the decade is out.

REB
