Footy tips going well as usual. We all knew about the Roos owning Port (and the more recent trend as Port claw back) but perhaps many tipsters forgot about the following ownings..
Geelong own Carlton: Cats flog the Blues as Fev gets a duck
Essendon own Freo: Dockers given the heave ho as the Bombers' flight continues
Crows own Dogs: Crows currently putting the bite on the Dogs and putting them back in the kennell
And now it is us tipsters who are rapidly being owned!

REB

Everone has jumped on board the dogs pretty quickly
The Eagles (Prelim) and Crows today have exposed the Dogs.....
The dogs have too many players who are not accountable, they love to run hard forward of goal, but they have little or no defensive action.
Not to mention, they lack key position players, they may struggle for a top 4 spot

I am not sure how the Crows won that one ..... they don't have a 'Plan B' apparently and the 'Plan A' is common knowledge to all opposition coaches so many would have us believe
Must be that Rocket wasn't CC'd in on the 'Plan A' email, because it's not possible that Craigy has anything else up his sleeve ..... is it????

Christ thats a turn up for the books, restores the status quo, I at the start of the year I had a ? or L along side this game as I rated the dogs with their developing list.
I had a W agaisnt last weeks game so back on track, next week is a W.

Great win by the Crows, probably their best win since Craigy has been at the club
In regards to the Dogs, I believe they will play finals but they must be concerned about their structure and their lack of size
1. Darcy and Murphy, these blokes are a good 12 months away from being back to their best
2. Lack of size, Chris Grant is the only player due to come back with real size, Harris is a great defender but again lacks size
3. Lack of accountability, too many runners that refuse to be accountable, Eagleton, Higgins, Cooney, Ray, Griffen, all these blokes look great in space but refuse to close players down...
I do not think the Dogs are big enough or hard nose enough to challenge for the flag
In specific to the crows
I thought it was Macc's best game for 3 years, 35 touches was a fantastic effort, Goody Edwards and Macca combined for 97 touches, while Knights, Thompson and Rielly combined for 76 touches (Fantastic support)
Forward Line, Stevens was fantastic early, Welsh looked confident, Bock used his big frame well and Perrie improved longer the game went, combined effort of 13 goals was a very good return
On a negative, Johncock's injury, early reports is that it may only be a ankle sprain.......
Looking towards next week, well it just gets better, Port won today but were not convincing, I expect the crows to get better

People spelling doom and gloom for the Crows were always gonna get egg on face. They are a quality side, even without a couple of players.
As for the Dogs. They are just too inconsistent to have any faith in them whatsoever. They will make the finals, but I cant see them ever seriously challenging for the flag until they get some quality KPP down there.

I think the major thing from last week's result (Crows vs Ess) is that a lot of people probably underestimated the Bombers. Theres a signficant chance that they'll be the big improvers this year. With Lucas on fire and Mal Michael helping Fletcher out in the backline, Sheedy's mob look like they'll be a real chance to make the 8, especially if Lloyd and Lucas stay fit for the majority of the season.

I am not sure that's a given anymore after tonight ......
The Crows surprised me too tonight, happily surprised. I always feel we play well at the MCG and we made the Bulldogs look incompetent at times, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Aker looks like he pulled a hamstring.

What a great night to be at the G is all I can say - loved it.. almost as much as the train ride home - through footscray station etc.. my boy and I were the only 2 Crows supporters on a very full train..
I went tonight hoping for an honourable loss.. with no Burton on top of a huge injury list, I had real concerns against what I thought to be an improving team.... but I walked away in awe of the performance tonight..
Last week I said 0-4 before making the finals.. well I still think the next fortnight will be tough - but these developing kids in Knights and Douglas are going to be special - and playing them off a half back flank / back pocket is genius... gets a feel for the game without the hussle and bussle of the midfield...
SD - your sum up of the game was really good, but there's just two more blokes I want to give a big wrap to...
Griffin - really doubted him at this level.. but as a back up - he's going to make a big contribution, with his mobility around the ground, really good support for Hutson tonight.
Van Berlo - did an excellent job on West - i know he had 30 touches, but they were all not damaging in the middle like usual - add to that, 19 touches for himself - think he's really coming of age as a run with player at AFL level...
Onwards and Upwards we hope (but be warned - don't be too cocky about next weeks game, it's a 50 / 50 match!!)

One of the best wins I have witnessed over here for sometime. Losing Burton before the match and then Johncock and Shirley before half time. A total team effort today with no passengers.
BTW to the guy in #27 "Who are you and what have you done with Scott Stevens?"

Mrs Wedgie was very confident when she heard Burton was out that the Crows would win comfortably!
I laughed at the time but she was spot on, AGAIN!

scaffidi can't drive
agree with your comments in regards to Griffen and Van Berlo
Van Berlo's courage at times was fantastic, couple occasions when he backed in to a marking contest in the defensive 50m
the crows have shown plenty of patience with Van Berlo, Knights and Griffen and they are starting to deliver on that faith
Knights had 28 touches, Van Berlo had 19, Griffen continues to work hard and make a contest (would like to see him push forward a bit more)
On Douglas, this kid is not far faway from having a big game, he gets in all the right spots and does all the right things

Speaking of owned!
How much did Andrew McLeod own the half back line last night. He was awesome, 3 Brownlow votes for shizzle!
