How many captains????

What do Jonathan Brown, Simon Black, Luke Power, Chris Johnson and Nigel Lappin all have in common? Yes, they all play for the Brisbane Lions, and yes they have all played in premiership teams .... and they are all captain of the Brisbane Lions in 2007. Wouldn't they be better off naming the players who AREN'T captains? It would be quicker.

Just another attempt to one-up (or in this case two-up) other AFL clubs. Sydney have 3 captains, so we have to have 5. It will be interesting to see this develop over the next few years until a club names 42 captains!!!

All worthy candidates, but 5??

So what does a youngster do on the field if 2 senior players (who also happen to be captain) bark different orders at him?

I don't like the idea of having more than one captain....
St Kilda having a different captain every year... now Brisbane have 5.. it's gone too far.

Yeah, I thought you may have meant Cousins. I guess my stance on captaincy is it is a great honour to be captain of the club. All clubs have leadership groups and Brisbane is no different. They only needed one captain from 2001-03. I just think having more than one captain cheapens the position. It will be interesting to see 5 captains try to hold up the premiership cup :)

I thin that would be a pleasant problem that Brisbane would love to have...i dont really agree with it but I dont think you could think of 5 more quality individuals in any AFL team, therefore if it will every work it will work with these blokes
