The Australian today had an article in which they say the deal between 7/10/Foxtel is almost done with Fox getting 4 games a week, this deal has 'almost' been signed about 101 times so far!

good news, catn wait until its done and dusted...worse nightmare would be to have to watch all the games on 7 and 10...image how many ads they would put on to cover the outlay if they didnt onsell the games!!!! best bit about foxtel is the great commentary teams, no ads after goals and crystal clear picture and sound...and you can bet that the popular footy shows from fox foty will come back also...

Agree. These were the only ones I ever really watched along with the replays of games and the replays of the SANFL games. If these shows are shown Foxtel will be better IMO having Fox Sports 1, 2 & 3 instead of having Fox Sports 1, 2 & the FFC.

1: I disagree, free to air (the only cost being watching 'Crazy John' phone ads) football should be mandatory.I pay to go through the gate, not flick a button to see a game. Its crap IMO.Pay TV is rubbish, free TV is rubbish,at least you dont have to pay $100 a months to watch the shite.

2: Good commentary? Clinton Grybas? Wayne Carey? oh dear.....

jmho

But you have always had FTA footy, BUT we never got to see 3-4 games a round...with Fox Footy I could see my team EVERY week no matter where or when they played (something Crows and Power fans dont appreciate)

Pay TV is great for live sport, and thats what I love about it...and I pay under $70- a month...got it as soon as we had kids as we stay at home much more...$70- is nothing compared to what we used to spend pre-kids

Grybas, Carey, Schwass, Healy are excellent...Campbell and Bartlett I cant stand

I was hoping Foxtel would leave C7 and C10 out to dry but the only good point is more work for Clinton Grybas.
Best commentator going around and a great bloke to boot, had the priviledge of knowing him for about 6 years.
Come a long way from commentating the NBL on ABC once a week and good on him!
(Even if he is a Collingwood man!)

Man, I was over the AFL even before Bruce McAvaney came back, I doubt I'll watch one Friday night match with him commentating this year, embarassing to say the least that he's from SA despite being a nice guy.

SPECIAL!!!!!!!

Dont have Foxtel and have no plans to get it installed even if they do get the rights.

Yes it would be great to have it hooked up, yet I cant see the point of getting the crap package, so wouldent be going that way, to get the best movies and shows you dont get any change out of $100 p/m

For $100 p/m I can buy alot of new release movies on eBay, Name a game can supply several matches a month for keeps. The list could go on and on with what you could do with $100 p/m, yet it is my opinion that it is better not spent on Foxtel.

Having said that, Apple are releasing iTV soon which enables Apple users to watch TV online, that could be alot better value than foxtel as the range of programmes could be unlimited. Most AFL fans overseas can access their game cast through the website, so it could be that is the cheaper option.

well I dont pay $100- pm...I get all teh channels except movies, which you can buy on demand if needed, for $70- pm....which is less than 2% of the average individual income in Australia...thats individual income not household so if you have more than one income its even less....so no you dont have to be rich to have foxtel...
