Interestingly the reigning premier hasn't received ONE vote yet...Sydney would have to go down as one of the most underrated premiers in history, and while I LOVED their celebrations and enjoyed their win, it just didn't sit right with me that a Swans Premiership had occurred in THIS league.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?

Adelaide to win the flag LMAO. They couldn't win the flag after

-Having the most underrated coach in the league
-Having a heap of players who stepped up
-Having a team that generally flew 'under the radar'
-Capturing the minor premiership
-Having hardly an injury all season long

Rest assured, the Cows will become the hunted in 2006 and now that Neil Craig has earnt the respect of the football world, people will be watching what he does, his tactics, his preparation..everything. With all of those factors in their favour last season the Cows couldn't even pinch a Grand Final berth. Where exactly is this improvement going to come from to take this list (which massively overachieved last season) to the premiership next season?

Thanks for the belly laugh boys. This poll could have come straight out of the Carptiser.

Wasn't sure who to go for in the poll, but with REB's form at picking loser's at the moment I just couldn't look past the Crows.
One could say that next year the Crows will be as starved of success as the Socceroos are of World Cup qualification.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Perrie,Bock,Hentschel,Rutten and co. all played above themselves, now now, before you jump all over me because I mentioned Rutten,we all know when the midfield fires, the backs job gets made a little easier, hence,Poocuttio,Goodwin,McLeod,Edwards, and some more like Reilly,Shirley (who also played above themselves) helped out the back 6.McGregor is solid, but needs to kick more goals to be dominant,Welsh shits me,Perrie will get worn like a glove and wont deal with the attention. The biggest problem for the Clowns will be in the ruck,Boglands is dodgy,Clarke a great tap work ruckman, but we all know his impact around the ground, and the last couple of games for them showed how good and how much Hudson is and will be missed.

They will make the 8,but the radar will be on them, and the expectation of the average theatre go'er in the street will be much higher.

Jeez,I cant wait to see what sort of coverage they get early in the year in the Crowertiser.....
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

St Kilda for the flag..here's why

Postby Rik E Boy » Fri Nov 25, 2005 1:42 pm

St Kilda are the clear and obvious choice for this year's flag because...

1. Their key players are sturdy, resilient and rarely if ever get hurt: Behold - I give you Luke Penny, Aaron Hamill, Justin Kostishacke, 'Toby' McGuire, Andrew Thompson and Nick Reivoldt, iron men all.

2. They have the smartest coach in the business, just ask him.

3. The media never fails to underestimate this playing group, correctly nominating it as the best in the league even though their defence are midgets and they don't have one decent ruckman, let alone two.

4. Thier depth is outstanding...up to at least eight players! It is the next ten that are the worry. Saints fans think Rapheal Clarke is the next Winmar but for polictical correctness reasons, I cannot name the connection.

5. They have that winning culture. 1 flag since 1897 can't go wrong. It would make a Torrens fan blush.

6. Excellent support services that have not been sacked since the end of 2005.

So there you go chaps, forget your Crows, Port or anyone else you happen to barrack for. As Highlander said 'There can be only one' and it's the Saints. Get on em now boyos!!

39 votes received and the reigning premier has the same tally as the reigning wooden spooner - what a fluke by Sydney even with the AFL insisting Barry Hall play in the big one...

...and nothing is a better indicator of worthy premiership success than this SA-based poll. Sydney shut down West Coast and defeated St Kilda in Melbourne. Now just who was the team that should have won last season? Let me guess, the Adelaide Cows? LMAO.

No way we should have won it, blew that when we lost at home in the first round.

Finals are the biggest time of the season, no excuses.

Sydney deserved it, beating the Saints in Melbourne, with huge odds against them.
