St Kilda endorses Swan Lyon as its new senior coach

ST KILDA is understood to have chosen Sydney assistant Ross Lyon to be its next senior coach, with an announcement expected to be made as soon as today.

The Swans assistant has leapfrogged his Sydney contemporary John Longmire, who was the early favourite, into the prized St Kilda senior job.

the mail in Sydney is the job was a very close call between Lyon and Bond and Horse was not well prepared and did not even come close

Horse either thought he had it in the bag or he is over-rated

question is, do we rate assistant coaches too highly just because they have been part of a premiership team or top 4 club, how do we actually measure their value at that time to that particular organisation

Yes, some peoples definition of a good coach is purely a Premiership coach, but a realistic look at Craigy's job thus far, he's done a pretty good job

SD I said EXACTLY the same thing about Grant Thomas doing a fair job
getting saints to top3-6 but was shot down by the anti aints posters.[re saints the excuses post]
Premierships is not the measure of greatness, Craig getting a average team to
prelim finals is a sensational effort, as was Thommos team playing on that diabolical concrete catastrophe

Spider Everitt
because,
Everitt would be 2 years of hell, Gardiner would be 5 years of hell.
