the mail in Sydney is the job was a very close call between Lyon and Bond and Horse was not well prepared and did not even come close
Horse either thought he had it in the bag or he is over-rated
question is, do we rate assistant coaches too highly just because they have been part of a premiership team or top 4 club, how do we actually measure their value at that time to that particular organisation

Last 3 Premiership Coaches
2004- Williams - 6 years to win a premiership
2005 - Paul Roos - 4 years to win a premiership
2006 - Woosha - 5 years to win a premiership
Other long term coaches
Laidley - 4 years with the Kanga's, 2005 only season in the finals
Thompson - 7 years with the cats, 3 of those years played finals footy
Connolly - 5 years with freo, 2 years playing finals footy
Yes, some peoples definition of a good coach is purely a Premiership coach, but a realistic look at Craigy's job thus far, he's done a pretty good job

what also hurt thommo is he refused to recruit a quality ruckman
my mail is even though he had a good relationship with the player he was developing an environment when he controlled every part of the club and failed to listen to medical advise, recruiting advise, player managers, he just grew too big
