Talk on the national game

I listened to the press conference yesterday and found his answers quite awkward.
Are there any other Port supporters on here that dislike Davies? I can't stand the guy, he just comes across as a really arrogant wanker.

Unless the doc was told "get Aliir back on" by a coach or anybody else then it's on him.
Is he maybe too invested in the game?
So therefore independent doctors (with footy/elite sport experience) should be supplied by the AFL.

Fox running a story on how Port managed Sam Mayes concussions both during games in SANFL and selecting him to play AFL when concussed where Mayes had to pull out himself.

His symptoms and on going issues are worrying

Surely if that was the case any doc worth their salt would be out the door and speaking to the AFL.

He's not particularly likeable, however he doesn't get paid for me to like him. Having said that, it's time some of those senior positions within the club changed.

Heard Bits of Kochie this morning and was rather dismissive of the claims made by Sam's partner

ACCOMPLISHED and respected leader Erin Phillips will captain Port Adelaide for its second season in the NAB AFLW competition, supported by co-vice-captains Ange Foley and Janelle Cuthbertson.

Rounding out the leadership group are livewire Justine Mules and experienced head Hannah Dunn.

I like this idea and can see merit in doing this at all levels :

This year for the first time, an emerging leader group has also been chosen, with the players selected demonstrating promising leadership qualities.

Maria Moloney, Alex Ballard, Sachi Syme and Julia Teakle are the four emerging leaders voted in by their peers, with the group set to take on extra responsibility throughout the season.

Just a new title and slight twist...most of the 27 man leadership groups included a player you would consider an 'emerging leader'

When he was at the Eagles I had a call from him about some stuff that was posted on here where he got his knickers in a knot.

That being said well done Port for at least admitting they got it wrong and not trying to cover it up.

In every press conference he does for Port to me he comes across as if he doesn't want to be there/ doesn't have the time to talk to the media/ thinks he's too good to be there.

the guy is an absolute prick with ears.

But I dont believe for a second Davies overruled the doctor to send the players back on.

Interesting "editorial" piece by Gerard Healy on SEN a little earlier on this doctor topic. Certainly put another angle on it. Have to say, I agree with Healy on this one. Why would any doctor "sacrifice" time & earnings to be an AFL doctor?

Surely each state would have its own doctors so it would essentially be 4-5 hours once a week.
Probably some afl doctors training sessions/seminars etc.

Many doctors do extra ciricullum work on top of their day job.

I’d suggest it’s far more hours than that. If you get a chance listen to what Healy had to say. Reality and perception are a long way apart.

I heard it last night after reading your post.
Some good and interesting points raised, particularly AFL house back on full pay yet clubs still held back

Still no findings from the AFL on the breach of concussion protocols? Not sure why it's taken so long...
