Still doesn't explain the no shows when they were allocated an actual home game at the venue.

Given the circumstances in Victoria I wouldn't think to many no members would be buying tickets at present and lets be honest who know what their actual membership figures are given they include every man and his dog literally.

Only a couple of clubs include pet membership numbers but figures are rubbery this year because due to Covid last year some memberships were rolled over to this year free of charge and some clubs are offering various other ploys to get numbers up. At the end of the year when the audited memberships come out we see the true figures.

No doubt they do have some flaky supporters but I don’t think over here we appreciate how tough people are doing it over there. Vic crowds are well down across the board

I was there in the 1st week of March and it was a ghost town, however they also missed out on seeing their team for all of 2020.

Given Jim’s example I think it’s poor form to blame supporters for not rocking up if they have other economic priorities given what’s happened since March 2020.

All of us who reside West of the 132nd parallel have been relatively, I stress relatively, immune to the economic consequences of Covid compared to the likes of Vic, NSW and to a lesser extent Qld.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes they did miss out on seeing them but after 5 lockdowns including one that went for 18 weeks I think sport may take a back seat to keeping a roof over your head or putting food on the table.
Every time I have to visit one of our Victoria sites I’m reminded on how good we have had it in SA during the pandemic.

Richmond had 2 MCG games with over 50k only 7 weeks ago, ANZAC day drew 78k

There are still plenty of fans going to footy

Home games where entry is free. Big difference.
Not a doubt that Richmond fans don’t turn up to Marvel even in Premiership years but there are many that wouldn’t want to pay
I’ll use my club as an example. We have the Crows this week at Marvel and should get around 22k I’d imagine (still restricted) but if this was a Crows home game at Marvel against us I’d bet no more than 15k attended

I say bullshit to all of that. Bang on about 100,000 members and can't get 10,000 of them to go to a game? Toughen up princess.

No doubt it’s poor and they hate Marvel which is bizarre in itself. I just think there are factors at play that keep some away like it or not. For a supposedly football mad city Melburnians hate Thursday night footy

Utterly bizarre. It's two train stops from Richmond. Or a half hour walk for most people.

The MCG and Docklands have to be two of the easiest sporting grounds to get to in the world.

I think it looks crap on TV but a 40k+ crowd at Docklands produces a fantastic atmosphere when you're there.

My seats at Marvel are as good as you will get at probably anywhere in the world I’ve been too. Far better than the MCG but unless you have 40k there it’s pretty sterile

Port wouldnt get 500 to a game at Adelaide Oval if it was a Gold Coast home game.

Incorrect. Marvel (Southern Cross) is 3 train stops from Richmond.

There is a bit to this, if you have paid up members but then asking them to buy tickets for a game, I just think it's pushing it a bit. Yeah sure you will get some fans that go to away games. But say 10k to an away games that's probably ok isn't it?

Oh yeah you’re correct. I was thinking North Richmond.

Swans fourth Rising Star for 2021 and a second nomination for Justin McInerney!
