Think of the extra time to grease those Zimmer Frames & get those banjos in tune.

Am I the only one who hates the bye before finals? I'd be happy with a bye before the penultimate minor round game but the bye after the minor round suck dogs balls. That week of no footy is ridiculous.

The pre-finals bye is just bollocks.

Don't know anyone that likes it, kills the momentum of the season imo
Those that don't play in September have no understanding of the detrimental effect the bye has.

I reckon the Western Bulldogs would disagree, one of the main reasons they won the 2016 flag.

As a Blues fan the bye just means the season finishes a week early, however what really annoys me the most is that it falls on Fathers Day weekend, and ideally on Fathers day you should be able to watch the footy, but you cant.

Bah humbug

I thought Freo fully took the piss for the one year in a row that they were actually good?

They rested about a dozen players for their game vs Port Adelaide over here when they couldn't go up or down the ladder regardless of the result.

I wish I moved a little quicker on it as a couple of mates cashed in nicely on a Port win on the punt.

Correct, last round of 2015 from memory.

Unlike Freo who couldn't move on the ladder, the Roos could move.
I think a win left them 7th and would have an away final vs Adelaide, where as a loss meant they fell to 8th, playing 5th who was an out of form Victorian (possibly Richmond?) side so they were very happy to lose the game.
I think they ended up resting 10 players for the game, then won the final the next week and moved into the Semis.

Yeah, 2015. We rested a heap in the last round against Richmond, got beaten by about 7 goals.
Played them again the follow week in the Elimination Final & won by 5 goals.

Who would've thought the AFL would've jumped at shadows and changed a rule for the sake of it.

5 changes for the Bombers this week. Bit risky bringing Draper straight in and wouldn’t be shocked if the Hawks won comfortably
