That’s just granting of the council lease, still needs State Development approval.

This was just as important for them.

From yesterday's AdFL Update

Thebarton Oval

Our original plans to be positioned at Thebarton Oval have been well and truly skuttled. That reference of skuttled should in no way be construed as a negative slant on our position. It simply presents a new challenge and indeed our League Executive have represented the Clubs who elect them to manufacture an outcome that whilst our claims to compensation have now been agreed to in principle, we can be moderately content with our position when the final chapter to this book can be closed. Throughout this journey, we make no apology to putting a stake in the ground and holding firm on our very well-established legal position in the interests of our Clubs and by extension, The League and our future.

Though the lessons learned as we continue to explore every possible benefit to The League whether it be for the present day or to what may be legacy decisions to stabilise a platform for the next generation of management of this League to operate from is to ensure we remain in absolute control of our own destiny accepting a need to collaborate with the football community at large for the good of footy generally.

As the governing body of football in South Australia, we will continue to work with SANFL, if not hold them accountable though to be fair to them, it’s an accountability they willingly accept on behalf of football of which we are a major stakeholder. Though our very clear priority is to ensure what is good for footy, is primarily what is good for our clubs.

Whilst we are fully cognisant of the commercial value the Adelaide Football Club will bring to the Thebarton precinct and in turn the asset value for the West Torrens City Council, we are genuinely saddened our time as a commercial partner of our former landlord has now come to an end. Terry Buss, Angelo Catinari and Councillor Kym McKay have been the most wonderful of hosts for what was a 17-year collaboration, and we wish them well in the future and extend out most sincere appreciation.

Long story short, we’re nearly there.

Sloaney with another detached retina requiring surgery...
Soligo ankle injury in match sim
Milera another hamstring injury

Not a good week!

Sloane one seems worrying, apparently he was just in a training drill running and not a contact incident.

Soligo a rolled ankle, enjoy the week off lad.

Milera, that one is more of a concern given his history, not the time of year for someone with a track record like his to be falling behind. Nothing worse than playing catch up for a bloke with a history.

Yeah with Sloane it gets to the stage where do you prioritise your sight for the rest of your life, or one more year playing and risking permanent blindness...

They seem to think Milera will be right for the trial games but the history is not great.

I think if the Crows want to be a progressive, ruthless, successful AFL team, someone has to take Sloan aside and say "Thanks, but no thanks".

I thought 2022 should have been his swansong, and I get that he's great for culture, but you can do that in an assistant coach capacity, too.

That's not even a question.

I'd rather a detached left nut than a detached retina

I know right... but some of these guys need the decision taken out of their hands.
He was ok last year, but I would not have given him another year.

Imagine barracking for a side concocted off the back of Port Adelaide, tapping into State pride. It's nearly unbelievable if it didn’t happen Right In Front Of Me ;)

I hope someday you'll join us

Ha ha. Every time I see 'be that as it may' it reminds me of the 12th man and I read it in a 'Tony Grieg' accent.

BILL: Then you're a complete wanker Tony
TONY: Be that as it may...

Good old Billy. :D

All we are saying, is give sheep a chance.
