So the AFL fined them without speaking to the players or club?

Sounds likely

No fine, I'm assuming it's 50k in like with Adelaide.

I understand the AFL fining clubs when players breach the AFL protocols on covid.

However in this instance, I'm assuming the AFL doesn't have in its policy that you must wear a mask when attending the swimming?

If so, on what grounds will the AFL fine Port?

(I note the AFL fined the crows following their players on the plane, but that was travelling as part of the team, and I wouldn't be surprised if masks on the plane is written into the AFL policy, but I just can't see the policy covering swimming).

For What its worth, I think Port should be fined as the players are idiots for clearly doing the wrong thing in public, but I do wonder how the AFL are justifying it.

Looks like no penalty, players either had food or had just eaten as per Swimming Australia's COVID protocols. ( ie - No mask while you're eating or drinking )

Yep they were caught out and now the club is back peddling at a 100mph.
I’m sure they did have food and beers at some stage like anyone would but surely they would know people are out to get them so they should whack their masks on straight after.
I put the mask around my neck to at least make it look like I’m doing the right thing whilst having a beer when masks are required.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

“The players had purchased food and beverages earlier and had placed their food and drinks in front of them during the race. Their masks were placed on their laps at the time.

“Once they had finished eating and drinking they put their masks back on as required."

Noone dislikes the Crows more than me but at least the Crows owned up to their **** up, that response of Port really is pathetic.

Mate don’t give me that, look at the AFL injury list you’re smack bang in the middle of number of injuries reported on the AFL site. Others are doing better I grant you especially the likes of Gee, WB, Melb and Richmond
But the fact remains you aren’t doing too bad.

Yes you have key outs but so do all clubs and whilst you (all club supporters really) think yeah well our outs are more important than their outs that comes from the perspective of knowing your players better compared to opposition players importance their team structures

I don’t like challenging you as your a fair minded balanced supporter of your club but the reality is 7-10 injuries is about average for a club at any one time.

I note last week you had 10 afl website to 15/6) on the list now you’ve got 8, so in some ways the above is an improvement.
