I think the teams are well represented, obviously there's a few niggles with preferred players and in some instances profile gets a gig over others and then there's Weller, is it because he has a brother called Maverick or did they just pull a name out of the Gold Coast hat? It would've been greater exposure to chuck a talented kid in there.

I'll have a look when I get a chance at the in's and out's from the initial squad.

All of those are better than Lycett.
He’s seriously overrated.

Witts yeah, but the other 2? Get off the hash.

No hash required, he’s junk.
Big Bill would have been a better option but you guys sent him across the road.

Hardwick commenting that this might be an every 2,3 or 4 year event. He noted the "pride the players have felt pulling on the Big V".

As for the shit the rest wear, we don't care - said the VFL.

No he wouldn't have, Kenny has no time up his sleeve now, he needs ready made players, Lycett was more than serviceable last season for a while, he just needs to replicate that form and have some consistency.

On a side note, how is it that we have a tendency to ruin ruckmen?

Frampton is no good.

He'd be ok coverage for the back-up ruckman if he went down too.

Everyone that leaves Port is no good

Pittard
Polec
Frampton

(I tend to agree on Frampton)

Au contraire, you've not see me say I'm glad Jackson Trengove was let go (albeit we clearly got his best football when he played at Port) nor have I said I think Wingard or Howard are "no good".

You've fired a shot across the wrong bow.

I guess I'm in the minority obviously but I thought Frampton offered something and I was keen to see him play more last year. I despise the way we play 4/5 smalls up forward and was keen to see him given a go.
I hope him and Howard both have great seasons at their new clubs.

Frampton falls into the category where people expect all 42 players on the list to be stars when they're not.

I've never particularly rated Frampton (whereas Howard and Marshall I have), but he is young still and the big blokes can be the hardest to pick in terms of how they might pan out once fully developed physically and with more experience under their belt.

Frampton had fallen well behind Ladhams as the emerging early 20-something ruckman. With Lycett and Ladhams locked in long term and Hayes looking very promising I thought last year with Ryder and Frampton we had at least one too many ruckmen on the list, we may be one short now but with Lycett 27, Ladhams 22 and Hayes 20 we can look to draft the next best one coming along in the next year or two. I think getting rid of two balances our list better.

Interesting year ahead for Marshall.
The poor kids been through hell losing his parents so it was understandable that his footy stalled a bit last year.

Yeah you'd think its probably a bit make or break for him this year - As you said he's been through a lot, hope he has a great career

I feel as though the weight of expectation has been too big so early in his career, it will be interesting how Rozee goes this season for similar reasons, although I think he has more feathers in his bow than Marshall.

Marshall has put on a lot of muscle this preseason. A good sign

From what I saw last Friday night - Todd has definitely added some size, and his aerobic capacity has gotten better. Was involved in quite a few scoring chains as that high half forward link up - a role that suits him as he is deceptively quick and has great foot skills for a big guy.

Maybe as an idea for the future, the all stars guernseys could have each player tailored to have the state or origin logo on it somewhere. Just a thought and might make it more inviting for more players. Can keep it predominately white but have the SA, or WA, or TAS etc logo somewhere on the front chest area.
