Matty Clarke has just announced his retirement from the AFL, i think that he needs to continue on at glenelg next year.

Wouldn't you love that?
Anyway, correct decision was made. I just hope we don't go after Gardiner.

Nup - has reserved his decision whether to play on in the SANFL...but by not ruling it out is a good sign for the bays, he also did mention when he came to the bays he would like to make a contribution to the club

I think you will find Matty will pull the pin from all football, and given Gibbs will be drafted outside of SA, Douglas will play a full year with the crows, this would be a big chunk out of the Bays potential on ball division

with all due respect I believe he will play for the Bays next year and DOuglas and Gibbs didnt play on the ball all year!!!!

I'll have a private wager with you as I know a very very good source on this matter
I never said douglas and gibbs played on ball this year, looking top the future their natural progression is to move to the midfield, which at SANFL level they could make that step next year, at AFL level probably two or three years

interesting i didnt realise that Gibbs played on the ball this year, i must have been imagining things at the 20 games i went to this year.
I think you will find our on-ball division will remain as is, or may even get stronger with a few more recruits.
I have to alert you SD to the fact that the game Clarke played for glenelg against South at glenelg oval he won nearly every tap out and always put in the arms of backwell.
i can quote mouse on this ' i had an armchair ride all day..........'
i also have it on good authority that he is still a very good chance to play at glenelg next year.

I hope if he doesnt play he does the honorable thing and replay the transfer fee back to Glenelg they had to pay Soufs.
I do hope he plays though!!!

I do not doubt Clarke's ruck work, my doubt is with his hunger to go on, and the other interests outside of footy he wants to persue
My point on Gibbs, let me say it for a third time, I am aware of the fact that he did not play on ball this season but if available next year for the bayI am very confident that he would start spending more time in the midfield as well as Douglas if he was available
If Clarke does not go on, no Gibbs and No Douglas, this will have a big impact on potential midfield options

not really SD - Mouse, Macca and Fisher all in front of these blokes, even next year. DOuglas wont be a starter for the crows next year I wouldnt think so we may still get at least half a season from him...

Ah, I disagree Dutchy, I think Douglas will start the years with the Crows...
