Sure, Lyon may be suffering but that doesn’t mean he’s the only victim.
If you or someone you know is in need of crisis or suicide prevention support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit lifeline.org.au/gethelp.
So if Lyon is suffering from mental illness, it's not a "get out of jail free card".
I think she's well off the mark with that article.
I liked this bit, very true:
"But if you have thrown dynamite into your normal cosy world, ruined your friend’s life and that of his family, it is hardly surprising you are going to feel depressed."
No doubt, but it's suggesting she or the wider public knew of Lyon's mental health position prior to this unfolding. I'm also not so sure she understands what depression is, either. Shame, humiliation, embarrassment, those can certainly be connected to this event, depression is another beast and isn't so much a triggered matter for many, many people. For sure for some it can be, for some it won't be. Lyon, like most people, could have been living with depression for many, many years.
I agree with you that his reputation has been tarnished, but in all reality, I don't care what he's done, it hasn't hurt me one bit.
