Really happy with what our club has picked up at the trades/free agents and now the draft.

At first i was hoping we were gonna pick up Petracca but am really happy to get a quailty young forward in McCartin to take over Rooy in the next 2-3 years.
Was really suprised to see Goodard drop down to 21 and am thrilled that we picked him up aswell who hopefully will become a key defensive stock.
McKenzie will hopefully develop nicely as a midfielder and Lonie is a small forward who hopefully can turn into a Milne/Ballantyne type player for us.

Membrey will be a good player for us i was really impressed in the one game he played for Sydney last season.

Hoping the club will make improve a little bit this season, i know this will be a 2-3 year process

It would be nice to lock Paul Hamilton as manager of footy operations. The saints are screaming for some form of stability off-field. I'm sick and tired of the merrry-go-round thats gone on in the past.

The same Paul Hamilton who was GM of Essendon during the drug saga and who signed off on all invoices from Dank and Charters?

B: Sean Dempster, Luke Delaney, Sam Gilbert
HB: Jarryn Geary, Sam Fisher, Jimmy Webster
C: Farren Ray, Jack Steven, Luke Dunstan
HF: Eli Templeton, Nick Riewoldt, Leigh Montagna
F: Jack Billings, Paddy McCartin, Tim Membrey
R: Tom Hickey, David Armitage, Maverick Weller
I/C: Billy Longer, Seb Ross, Jack Newnes
Sub: Shane Savage

New: Tim Membrey (Sydney Swans)
Unavailable: Nil

Comment: The Saints are playing Greater Western Sydney in round one and they'll be keen to test their new players immediately and give supporters hope after a disappointing 2014. Tim Membrey was recruited as ready-made support for Nick Riewoldt, while there is no reason Paddy McCartin can't be thrown into the cauldron in round one. He would push out Josh Bruce, who moved forward in 2014. After the departure of Rhys Stanley to Geelong, two genuine ruckmen will be required, with Tom Hickey and Billy Longer both working to build their tools in attack. The Saints would be keen to see promising youngster Blake Acres push into the 22 quickly as well as Nathan Wright. Hugh Goddard could find himself making a dream round one start if Sam Gilbert isn't fully fit. - Nathan Schmook

I would of had Bruce in for Gilbert and id put Savage on the half back for Webster. Hoping Goodard can come in during the season to get a good run at CHB.

On Paper 2015 = a very long year but, At least they'll get games in to these lads and as you said 2-3 years time the improvement may be there.

Def going to be a long year just gotta establish a core group for the years to come.

I hope Goodard plays more down back and in time 3 years time start pushing forward every now and then.

He did such a good job with SACA that there was obviously no need to check references. .......

Strange appointment. But...he was drafted to Essendon at one point. Worth remembering that.
Appointing him from cricket is no stranger than Adelaide appointing a union man as their chief.

I would think Manager of Football is a little more specific than a CEO role. CEO's can jump from industry to industry with "relative" ease, I find it a very strange appointment.

One can only assume he'll have nothing to do with contractual agreements? 8)

Given how his last role ended in a contract negotiation scandal you would hope not...
