How far was the Harvey / Selwood incident from the ball, Spargo?

15 metres / 20 metres?

Was having a convo with mates on Sat arvo and we all agreed if Harvey got games then I probably would have been running around for Noarlunga C Grade by myself most weeks as stuff like that happens all the time in footy at all levels. Having said that it was consistent with what the AFL have been enforcing this year.

Except when Franklin did it & then Goodes did it.

So he ran at Selwood, hit him "up the front" as you said, 15-20m from the ball and from far enough away for Selwood to have time to prepare.

It seems so stupid when he just spent 3 weeks saying how he needs to learn from his mistake.

Big difference between those incidents and Harvey's one

Lol - really?
Franklin's was far worse but we all know he's a protected species.
And Goodes also ran past the play, jumped in the air & hit him in the head.

Never said those things reports were correctly judged, but atleast with those incidents the ball was in the vaciinity.

North aren't going to win anyway so it doesn't matter.

Harvey had zero reason to bump selwood! None! Wasn't any where near the ball. He was blocking, he left the ground and made head high contact...

I think he should get off too, but how dumb can someone be? Just returns from a 3 game ban and does what he did. Stupid

I think the point everyone else is forgetting is it's his bad record that has gotten him a game. If he didn't have a bad record he would of got off

It looked to me like Harvey tried to "square up" for an incident involving Selwood & Swallow a few seconds earlier. Either way; ridiculously stupid by Boomer and he won't play again this year.

I just wish swallow had of gone through with what he was going to do when Harvey approached

would have been quite funny to see team-mates knock eachother out

So he should be.
This point system is a joke, I dare say had Fyfe appealed his ban early in the year perhaps he wouild've got off too, but when a player has to risk getting 3 instead of 2 the will take the 2 every time. Harvey only appeals as he had nothing to lose.
Would love to know the stats on what % of appeals are made when the player has a free hit as opposed to risking more matches.
