Not just bad luck for that individual, but for GWS and the wider good of the game. The kid has plenty of promise and was to be, along with Cameron and Boyd, the cornerstones of a side that could potentially race up the ladder in the coming years to dominate the competition.

I hope he can bounce back from this one, if anything he has time on his side.

Think people are kidding if they think he is/was staying at GWS. Plenty of clubs would be trying to entice him back to Victoria, heard the Dogs were tabling an offer of $900k for 9 years and a couple of other Vic clubs are also in the mix. I for one cant wait for clubs to start picking the bones out of the Suns and Giants squad, no way without more AFL leg ups can they keep all this young talent, only fair that it filters back through the system. Squeeze him into Port's cap Boon?

I think Patton at 21 with 2 reconstructions on the same knee coupled with complications prior to that will see clubs approach him with caution, you simply have to.

As for Cameron, Port should be ( most clubs in fact ) doing everything we can to get him. It will ultimately boil down to what you want to give up.

Didn't see it at the time, but how the hell did sloanes kick get called a point in review? That had to be one of the worst video reviews in recent memory

The review was not handled well by the AFL. I was surprised they called it a point because it was hard to see. Sometimes I thought I could see it hit the post and others well I couldn't tell. Strange one.

Was handled poorly but had to laugh at the supporters who claimed it cost them a win.
Didnt the Crows get a goal from the resulting kick in and therefore a 7 point play anyway?

Can't comment on any of that, just saw the replay of it on the news. Seems like it wasn't a bad game to not watch haha

Most of those reviews are the biggest waste of time. They have poor angles and dont show anything! Why situated camera on the goal posts or continue with the goal umpire wearing a camera on their hat? Anything other than that is useless.

Round 21 General Chat and Dribble

by Jim05 » Mon Aug 18, 2014 3:15 pm

Anyone else get an email from Gilligan this morning. Apparantly finals tickets prizes are frozen at last years price and if I go to the first final and my team win I get 20% for the second final. He must be confident we are in the finals lol

I think members should get a significant discount for finals. Ie to the value of their regular ticket. If a ticket in their seat costs $60 and they are effectively paying $30 a week for their season ticket it should only cost a further $30

Agreed, 11 game season ticket holders deserve more than just the first refusal on finals tickets.

they got a goal from a separate kick in - ball was kicked in and about mid field Crows worked it back and missed again - the kick in then was intercepted by Sloane who gave off and Betts kicked a goal - cant really say it was an 8 point play - could argue they also get the ball out of the middle straight after the first goal and kick another - definately didnt cost the Crows the game - from where I sat once again poor foot skills and decisions under pressure cost us.

Handballing and kicking backwards and missing targets, giving away goals in the last minute of the first and second quarters when we should be shutting down, Henderson going to ground to milk a free kick in the last leaving Martin to walk in to an easy goal there is three goals right there that should never have happened and had zero to do with the umpires - frustrating to watch!

And Conca only got 2 for chasing a bloke down and elbowing him in the head from behind - I know what's worse.
Once again we've been lagged on by another club - this was reviewed only after the bulldogs complained (west coast did this a couple of years ago also). Yet we go into bat & get Steve Johnson off with evidence we didn't have to give.
I hope the club learns from this.
As for Wells, they need to challenge the second report and get him off the suspension.
