Summary

Freo learns 1 week too late you cannot select half fit players, last week's selection of Hasleby was a SHOCKING AMATUER BLUNDER, too bad for the Saints as this mistake cost them and Thomas his job

Eagles look strong with the return of Embly. Kerr and Seaby

Banfield and Staker omited from Eagles? If they can leave those two out comfortably then that is a major sign of the strength of this side.

agreed but it does show the strength of the side if they can afford to leave them out being regular players all of last year and this year.

The Demons are an overrated soft football team. These boys don't like getting hurt. You can leave out Byron and McLean but the rest of them aren't the type of players who like getting their hands dirty. They made very hard work out of defeating an injury depleted, poorly selected Saints side and I would be stunned if they defeated the Dockers, even though the Docks haven't won a final in their history. Docks by four goals.

The Bulldogs are not an overrated soft football team. Out of all of the Victorian sides they are the best equipped in terms of game style to take on and defeat WA opposition on the large expanses of Putriaco. This team is playing on raw emotion with that very dangerous 'nothing to lose' mentality. It is very tempting to select the Bulldogs here as coach Worsfold is wedded to the man on man game style that might come unstuck against the pacier Bulldogs and apparently Daniel Chick has come out on Perth radio targetting certain players suggesting he was going to 'line them up'. This suggests to me that at least on Eagle is focused on the job. I think it will be the Eagles by 15 points but would love to see the Dogs get up.

Dang. I said I wouldn't do this. After my spectacular zero last week the only way is up. Go the Dockers and the Bullies.

regards,
