Just going by a few of Cooney's comments on trade radio yesterday it sounds like Kelly is going around again

I've already taken a bet (from my potential DIL) regarding the Bombers in 2017. She is saying top 4 finish, I am saying top 8 at best.... what do I spend the $$$ on?

I heard that West Coast's Eric MacKenzie is a possible recruit for the Bombers.

It sounds plausible given he played good footy under Woosha at the Eagles and is out of favour with them.

Essendon would surely have to delist about 12 blokes to fit in the unsuspended players back in, plus the new draftees?

No, we added 12 top ups this year to cover the suspended players. We are keeping Kelly and Dea and only 10 of the banned are coming back. We have delisted a couple already and will probably get rid of another 3 or 4 in the next week or so which would allow us to take probably 6 players at the draft. Just depending what they will do with rookies etc

Who will you take at number 1 in the preseason draft Jim? Barlow be an option or not someone the Dons would be looking at?
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Don't think we would look at Barlow but he will find another club before the PSD. The DFA trade period is before that and I'd imagine he would be picked up there along with guys like Xavier Richards etc. Have heard we are looking at Josh Green or Brandon Matera in the PSD

Only 2 of the top ups are staying?

Is there a list somewhere of all the top ups that came along last year. And all the delistings so far

I thought boomer harvey would have been useful at essendon for 1 season. IMO i think the bombers will rise very quickly up the ladder

Yep.
Out of those 10 top ups we have taken Kelly and Dea only.
So far Hibberd has been traded, Pears and Cooney retired aswell as Tom Wallis, Gwilt, Edwards and Ashby being delisted. Will probably cut another few and maybe rookie a couple again I'd imagine.
Have Stewart coming in plus picks 1,20,29.
Would expect if everything goes right to finish around the 8-12 mark

Thanks guys

Shaun mckernan still in there. But he wasnt a top up?

So currented total listed players number on their list would be....

42 2016 players minus 8 top ups = 34 players

34 minus 2 retirements & 1 trade = 31 players left

31 minus 4 delistings = 27 players left

Add stewart & 3 draft picks = 31 players

Now how many suspended players are returning? And which ones :)

McKernan not a top up and will probably be delisted.
The 10 banned that are coming back: Watson, Heppell, Hurley, Hooker, Hocking, Colyer, Stanton, Bellchambers, Howlett, Myers
