Carlton has a very good following in South Australia, many of the hawks 'fans' would be bandwagoners.

Can't say I know of many Richmond fans in South Australia.

I still honestly beleive there are more supporters (excluding crows) of the other 16 teams combined than there are port supporters in this state.

Not a chance. Maybe in the older generations but very very few people under the age of say 30 will barrack for a Victorian club

You're way off. Don't forget the next generation who's parents can't stand either the crows or port. I know we - as well as many friends of ours will do our best they won't follow one of the two teams from here. It's not just those who follow Victorian teams either, don't forget the Swans, Eagles, Lions and the Dockers, Suns and Giants are building in popularity.
Don't be bluffed by the Adelaide media.

Crows fans older than 30 aren't real fans anyway.

just going on a straw poll of all the people my age. would say at least 80%-90% of them are either crows or power. especially if they are not hardcore fans and only have a passing interest. the older in age you get, and the more into footy you get, the more diverse it would become

Really?
Reckon the ammount of differant guernseys at colts trainings suggests otherwise. I know in my sons side only about 1/4 are Crows or Port followers the rest follow interstate sides.

I honestly didn't know too many crows supporters in Adelaide. Think I knew more Carlton, Geelong, Sydney and Collingwood supporters. Although I did try and avoid crow supporters at all costs.

how do you gauge it though. How do you know how many supporters Port have. Only way to gauge interstate support is by attendance but even then how many have travelled from interstate. Going by membership numbers Port have it covered easily.
