Seven today announced AFL football chat show, Talking Footy, is returning to Monday nights for the 2013 finals series.

The show first aired back in 1994.

Starting next Monday night, original host Bruce McAvaney returns with Wayne Carey, Luke Darcy and in something of a coup, AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou in a regular TV role.

Starts this Monday night 9:40pm on Channel 7.

Needs somebody along the lines of Grant Thomas who wont be afraid to take it up to AD.

Probably the most unappealing line-up of any sports show ever...Game Day is also **** horrible to watch

AFL commentary really is just becoming jobs for the boys isn't it. I imagine people will put up with one episode of the smug Andy D then turn off in droves.

I like "On The Couch", so the mainstays of Healy and Sheehan, but obviously they wouldn't be moving across.

I don't mind Bruce as the host, Carey I'd think would be OK, wonder if they could have gotten someone new like Chad Cornes?

Lou Richards, Jack Dyer and Bob Skilton would be a lot more entertaining....even now!

Bring back Drew Morphett !

Perhaps Grant Thomas would be the sort of commentator who would improve this type of show. I'd rather listen to his views than most other "experts" in the game.

Tim Watson would be an improvement too.

I agree the panellists for this show are very, very ordinary - I'd prefer Matthew Richardson and Cameron Ling (I'm assuming theyre both with 7, and not Foxtel, its quite easy to get them mixed up).

At least potential audiences can be grateful that BT isnt on the roster.
