Jesus how good was Mitch Grigg today ?
That young guy from North, Stevens is all class too. Apparently Barrie Robran has stated he is the best kick for goal he has ever seen.
Pity those two were not able to develop properly in a Crows reserve side

What about, wingard, crouch, colquhoun even dangerfield played a bit of sanfl. That's the joke, if the Victorian based teams had a competition as good as the sanfl for their players to develop in they wouldn't have bothered with their reserves. A coach they retained for eight years (longest serving) Neil Craig, believed the sanfl was the best pathway for develpment.
Regardless, though we know the best system is, what currently is in place, it's no use debating the establishment of the reserves. Sanderson has demanded it so in some form it will happen. The discussion has to be in what form and how will it benefit the sanfl if it were to eventuate.

Was thinking the same thing. Grigg, Johnston, Colquhoun all very good today after playing in the SANFL last week. Seems as though they understood the gameplan ok.

The opposite view would be that Clurey was dropped to the Reserves for no known reason given his form this year.

And Kerridge is struggling at the moment despite a break-out game against North Melbourne earlier in the season.

I'm pretty sure all the Victorian based sides (with reserves) have dropped players during the year due poor form.

Noy sure Clurey's form would be classed as "poor", given how often he appeared in the Best Players.

Admittedly, I haven't but from a distance, looking at his stats, he looks to be unlucky to be playing in the Reserves the last 2 weeks.

I know stats aren't always reliable, but a 2nd best against North in the League side on the 13th of July; not in Best players following week...then to Reserves where he kicked 2 goals, and was 4th best player. Still in Reserves following week (BOG for his side, this current round).

Consistency may appear to be an issue of his, and he may the type of player who could have benefited from playing in his AFL side's Reserves team.

After a break-out game he wouldn't have been dropped from the Crows unless his form had nosedived

What happened to no AFL in the SANFL?

Surely this is in the wrong board.

Spot on. Put this in the forum(s) where you can't bag the 'local' teams.

Here's 167 pages on the subject here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=38318&start=3320

For the record, I agree its probably best on the AFL board, or simply added to an existing thread.

For the record again, this thread was put here by someone who is anti-AFL Reserves teams.

by best for comp
gee pseudo it took you two hours to attempt to wind this thread up

Surely you don't want to prevent SA footy fans from knowing how their players went and whether they are likely to play over the next two months in this compromised competition. gttee that Norwood will want Griggs and Thomas their finals side, Johnson and Moore for north Laird and Crouch for West Petrenko and Mitchell for Eagles ,Colhohoun for central the list goes on

Past years have shown the Power contempt for local clubs by not allowing them to play ifinals so it will be interesting to see their attitude to sanfl this year

imagine the outcry if the crows prevent Grigg Crouch Petrenko and Johnston from playing finals now they are out of afl race

Given these four will play for .cows for next our weeks I hope they don't foget their local game plans

gee I trust you other 7000 odd posts have been so Inciteful and more than one liners or directions to moderators
