With all the debate about the reserves, how about this one?
What if their was a South West conference- Port, Adelaide, West coast and Fremantle
The 2 Neafl conferences- East and North - 18 teams
Total of 22 teams.
SW conference - plays each other twice( 6 games)
And the other 18 conference teams once- half away, half home.
Total of 24 matches- no NAB Cup.
SW games to be played as curtain raisers to AFL
Each AFL club is allocated 4 SANFL clubs to choose a total of 20 top up players at he beginning of the season.
No more than 4 from each club. Can include Under 18 players.
Only to be used when their Is not enough AFL listed players to choose from
Top 6- best performed sides over be 3 conferences.
1v6
2v5
3v4
2 lowest ranked losers drop out.
Preliminary finals
Grand final

You were doing ok until you suggested what is in bold. Again another AFL Supporter just thinking about what is best for the AFL and not really caring what you do to the SANFL!

This has SFA to do with reserves in the SANFL. The only reference to SANFL you make is the specification of SANFL teams as a host of warm bodies to top up AFL lists on demand. How about you take your idea and post it over on bigfooty where the braindead posters will no doubt laud you with kudos. You're unlikely to get it here.

If you read the title of the post, I never mentioned the SANFL, I reckon you must be on the wrong forum, not me. Surely this doesn't disrupt the SANFL as much as the current arrangement, would probably only involve 4-5 SANFL based players each week, and allows another pathway for promising youngsters to impress and get on an AFL list.
Seriously, you guys are obsessed with conspiracy theories .

Exactly go and get your top up players from the ammos or country footy.
Either that or if you want a top up player from a SANFL side you cough up a decent sum of money

Really? What's the title of this subforum, manure-for-brains? The AFL forum is down the hall (or better, on bigfooty).

So where does it say SANFL?? Expecting a couple of witless insults in return to really let me know you are small minded and have nothing better to offer

Would actually suggest just that. Make a payment to the club involved each time they are used.

or we could just get them to leave their sanfl club go back to ammos and take them that way.

I think I'll move this topic to the AFL forum since Einstein didn't realise he'd posted it in the SANFL forum.
