Trade Talk

I was in Brisbane today for work and the whisper is the Pies are very keen on Aka and Brennan, Tarrant has been mentioned to the Lions as a possible trade

Also my mail is both SA clubs are keen on Kent kingsley but he will have to come across on a near base salary

Crows will also make a enqiry to Freo regarding Medhurst

KK would have to be on base salary only and MEDHURST i think there are better players in our squad than him :D

I actually rate Paul Medhurst, I think he's got a bit of talent but If Craigy got him, I would get his fitness up and play him HB or on a wing, I believe as a HF this allows him to be lazy, improve his work rate and involvement in a game of footy and he might just be a bit of a gem

Medhurst may become a better player under Craig but im 50/50 at this point in time who will we give up for him???

Also mentioned today on the C10 Sports report was the unsigned Brett Ebert that Port may get rid of him to dare I say it and move across town.

Ive got an idea - Lets give Geelong - Perrie, Welsh, Mcleod for Kingsley. That would be good value for each team....

Andrew Mackie to the Crows or Port.

Ebert to the crows, the crows need midfielders and I am sure Craigy would not waste him across HF, I have no doubt Craigy would put the work in to him and the intent would be for Ebert to crack a spot in the midfield

honestly, the port faithful would burn the Alberton down if the famous ebert name ended up in the tri-colours

If this were to happen there would be a riot that even the cops couldn't control they would have to call in the SAS troops.

Very remote chance that this would go ahead IMHO. Brett's affairs are managed by his father and I dont think Russell could bring himself to negotiate with Adelaide about a contract

Presumably the Crows wont get anyone decent during the trade week because their coach is reluctant to endorse the process and wouldn't be willing to give up anyone that other clubs would be interested in. They'd have to give up Van Berlo, Maric, Knights, and or Douglas, and i cant see them doing that, and given that they wont have good draft picks to offer this will hinder them as well.

The only trade bait they'd realistically have is Meesen, so their trades would probably have to be based around him.

He was going to coach Norwood at one stage.

Anything's possible!

I am pretty sure that the Crows annouced they had re-signed Meeson?!?

I think Skipworth & Massie may be put up for trade this year for them.

I reckon Skippy will ask for a trade - could walk into many sides and still next year would not be gteed a start at West Lakes despite his form....best move for him would be to look elsewhere

skippie and massie are good players for the budgies because they fit in the system but getting a gig at another club is questionable.

Kent Kinglsey i think Geelong will pay for someone to take him, despite him kicking 4 goals on saturday in the 2nd semi in a losing side.

Andrew Mackie may get traded or delisted by the cats, he hasnt had many opportunities and hasnt done a lot when playing. Not too sure he is up to it. can fit in the forward line at Brighton Rd though.

Mackie will stay as he has done well on the wing in recent matches. Kingsley will go.

His Dad may want to see him get more of a go and maybe elsewhere that could be the case.

What I saw of him @ the showdown though may just give Port a wake up on this lad. Not to many players have beaten Johncock this year and he did it very well.

Meeson has signed for 1 year.

These days though it doesnt mean much.

I am not conviced that Skipworth would walk in to many sides at all. Happy to see him be traded for his sake.

Am I right in saying that you cant trade an unsigned player? Maybe thats the deal, sign on and we'll trade you back to Victoria.

no however if they are uncontracted they can go into the preseason draft - if they are contracted the only way they can change clubs is via a trade (with the incoming club taking over the contract)
