RIP Fred.

The Cats side of the early 50's was one of the best of all time. Back to back premiers in 1951-52, The most consecutive unbeaten matches in VFL/AFL history (26 from 1952-53) and also the record for most unbeaten matches in a row (23 1952-53). Fred and Reg's Cats had a bumper year in 1952 with the Brownlow going to South Australian Bernie Smith and George Goninon picking up the 'Coleman' from um...Coleman. :) The Catters were minor premiers from 1951-54 until they were supplanted by an even greater force...Norm Smith's mighty Melbourne.

regards,
