Might as well start my own topic, got the book as a chrissy present.

I have got half way through and while not being a literary master piece (not that I was expecting one) it does offer a pretty honest assessment of his career and life.

There is a few moments where you think 'yeah your probably right' also a few interesting stories about the shamble that was the Carlton FC in the early to mid 2000's, would be a fair few annoyed Carlton supporters reading those chapters

Sorry i meant annoyed at how big of a shambles the club was, not Fev saying it!

one example i can remember (read it a while ago, when it first came out) i think it was Heath Scotland when he first got there from collingwood, the players had to pitch in and contribute/buy their own footys. Scotland couldnt beleive it, and must have thought 'what have i gotten into here?" sorta thing.

but it may have been Nick Stevens? cant remember.

one thing that annoyed me about the book was how repetitive it was. so many times the says stuff like, "round 6 we played st kilda, although we lost by 48 points, i was happy with my personal efforts of 6 goals 4 behinds and 9 marks."

That's because Fev's is an illiterate imbecile ... you expected Dickens perhaps?

no, most certainly not. but i can only assume that it was proof-read by some sort of professional in the field, and surely they could have mentioned that it gets a bit repeditive, and suggest that he may want to change it up a bit.

Yeah was Heath Scotland and they had to buy their own football.

It is repetitive no doubt, I went in reading it not expecting much at all and it's not a brilliant book by any stretch but does have enough to hold my interest.

I read the book, not a bad read but really typical Fev it was was all self important and poor me, I think the Lions did him a favour cutting hima nd getting him out the AFL spot light which he appeared not to be able to handle...

The title of the book is missleading. If it was in Fev's own words there would be more crayon and no words longer than 6 letters.

I'd assumed apparent money and being well known was all it needed.
Then a certain class of women throw themselves at you.

It worked for me as a young professional man about town (with a Porsche) in the late 1970s and early 80s.
But you do get sick of the type after a while...
