AFL 360 just discussed Malthouse and showed some clips of both Swann and Malthouse being interviewed.
Was confirmed that Carlton and Malthouse have been in discussions within the last 24 hours or so.

MICK Malthouse says talks with Carton over his potential coaching appointment were overwhelmingly positive - but claims he still has plenty of thinking to do before getting the job.

Malthouse and Blues powerbrokers Greg Swann and Stephen Kernahan met today to officially begin what many believe is already an agreement for the three-time premiership coach to return to the AFL.
Malthouse appears the prime and only candidate to succeed the sacked Brett Ratten, who paid the price for failing to reach the expected heights of the top four this season.
Malthouse said no official offer had been put yet, despite widespread reports of a three-year deal worth upwards of $3 million.
But the ex-West Coast and Collingwood mentor said the discussions about the Blues' future had been upbeat,
"It was a good feel, it was a really good vibe from football people," Malthouse said.
"I walked away thinking I have got a lot of thinking to do, but it was a positive meeting.
"They were good, they were very honest and I have a clearer picture now of how the inner workings of the football department work at Carlton.
"I don't expect it to be concluded until next week, and they won't come out for one or two weeks.
"It was a really good, deep chat - I wanted to see where they were at, and they wanted to see where I was at.
"It was a good testing ground for both parties to weigh up the club."

That's no way to be speaking about your club's next coach

Doesn't mean I have to like him. I didn't think much of Pagan either.

Grant Thomas is one of those blokes that did nothing in his life except try to bring others down to his level

And everyone scoffed when I said his massive ego was causing the problems at Collingwood last year.
That and the media's campaign to derail our premiership tilt...

I would probably rather listen to Grant Thomas, than probably any other football commentator out there these days.
Compared to Archer on "Footy Classified", Thomas had some views worth listening to when he was on there.
Re Malthouse, if he's appointed at Carlton which seems likely, what chance of a Carlton v Collingwood game opening the 2013 season? I assume the Carlton/Richmond clash doesn't have to open the season every year.

The AFL will probably stuff it up and make them play each other in the preseason, just like Brisbane v Carlton when Fevola went to the Lions.

If Malthouse becomes the coach of Carlton,
then Collingwood will play Carlton at the MCG 5 times in 2013.

Because AFL rule 223, paragraph 7.
Sub Section iiv3(a)
"Teams may play each other at the discression of the AFL for the benefit of the game."
