really put his heart on his sleeve
alot of people dont like him for whatever reason but being north melbourne through and through my whole life,i have held memberships from 1973,played on the great arden st oval voted where we are going to play and what state and let me tell you something stinks down their
whether you like him or his job is one thing but no one will agree with back stabbing ,under mining leaking skunks around the place
the old boys club has to go
shin boners through and through

I've followed Geelong since I was 7. I couldn't tell you the name of any President or CEO in that time (even the current one's).

The sign of a good president or CEO is NOT to be mentioned during the footy matches and pressers.

Bulldogs and North are the worst, their off field bosses seem to grab headlines, not their players.

Are you serious - you never heard of Costa and Cook?

It wouldn't surprise.

I can't stand Brayshaw and for him to follow almost step-for-step in another great tossers shoes, McGuire, is no real surprise at all. Pick what you want to be, a club President or media whore.

I don't mind Brayshaw, but yesterdays interview smacked of a completely setup PR stunt .. Im surprised Eddie didn't have to wipe his chin by the time it was finished.

James seems to be the only club president that his club's supporters feel the need to defend or talk up publicly in threads like this.

the problem is north have alot of old boys around the club that cant let go
doesnt matter if you like jim or not,as a member what his commitee and himself have done has been great
i agree about the interview, was sooky la la but at the end of the day he has been copping it big time
carolyn wilson is the main person and why she still has a job writing is beyond me

maybe because the air time and the fact that they are not heavily supported means they fight for what they can get

Considering McGuire is a qualified journalist, that's a pretty ignorant comment. Is he not allowed to work in his profession and be the President of a football club?

Would be interesting to hear how many club presidents give up their profession for the role?

Would have a fairly biased attitude towards Brayshaw though.

He is, if he is smart enough to know when he is in the role of either or. Fair to say Eddie struggled for some time to make the balance between media hat and presidents hat work?

Some clubs choose a high profile President to attract attention and, I assume, new members.
It is not a surprise therefore that these Presidents remain prominent.

I like Brayshaw.
He is pleasant and civil, and not an aggressive type, and has the class, taste, and style McGuire and others in the football scene lack.
I can see that would mean he doesn't go over well some football fans.

You don't know how he operates away from the media though Psyber.

Anyone who can pull North out of the massive hole they were in gets a tick from me. From what i hear he put his hand up when nobody else would. Good on him i reckon.

Didn't they get some cash from the AFL? ( No need to bring Port into this, we are discussing North )

yes they did,like other clubs
western bulldogs, melbourne, richmond, hawthorn, port adelaide,st.kilda have all had extra dividends handed to them to help the clubs survive over the years
collingwood was a basket case for along time money wise as well
this was agreed on by clubs and afl due to the fact that the huge clubs get what they want and to be honest what the afl needs
they get the guaranteed block busters, travel on a light schedule ect
teams like the roos, dogs and dees also got looked after due to the fact they were prepared to sell games to new areas(canberra, tassie, darwin, cairns ect)when the big clubs would not go
