Unbiased viewer of last nights WCE v Carlton game and thought the visitors got stitched up. The Joseph free and resultant goal...OMG!!

Don't see every game but the one's I have involving WCE I've thought they've done OK with the Martians, so I had a look

Bulldogs 12 v WCE 19
WCE 32 v Melborne 12
GWS 18 v WCE 23
WCE 33 v Hawks 23
Rich 17 v WCE 21
WCE 29 v North 15
Ess 19 v WCE 19
WCE 25 v Saints 16
WCE 19 v Freo 10
Brisbane 13 v WCE 21
WCE 23 v Carlton 21

Some big discrepancies there....thoughts?

I think that you will find that over the course of football history, good teams
will have more a/ kicks, b/ handballs, c/ marks, d/ free kicks and, most importantly,
e/ score more points that their opposition.
That is what makes them good teams.
I am constantly dumbfounded by the notion that free kick tallies should be the same.
Why?
And I'd like to know what West Coast's free kick ratio was like when they won the wooden spoon in 2010.

I watched only the last 15 minutes and hadn't heard any of the debate over the umpiring prior to that.
At the time, I thought Carlton were getting treated differently to WCE.
I won't say it was a rough run.
To me though, WCE were able to hang on to players and grab them just prior to taking possession and they would get away with it. There was a lot of hanging on when the ball was at ground level that I thought they got away with.
Other clubs might not have been so lucky.
There was a push in the back going into Carlton's forward line that wasn't paid. But one was paid against the Blues in their forward line - going to Nik Nat.
Maybe it's just very clever play by the WCE. They know the interpretations of the rules and are working hard to play within them.

Mr66 but good teams don't necessarily win the free kick count every week as the figures show above.
In fact, I'd be amazed if any team had ever had a win in the free kick count in a run like that shown above.

Anyone also have first to the ball statistics?

Based on my limited experience if you are first to the footy you have a more favorable free kick count.....

I still don't see a problem with WC's figures.
Teams have won 10+ games in a row plenty of times so I find it feasible that the
above stats could occur just as regularly.

You know it's where you get them. Umpiring was a disgrace both ways but the eagles definitely got the benefit of where they received them.

No inaccurate kicking obviously had an impact just like last week v Geelong where we kicked 2.9 in the last quarter. Good kicking is good footy but with that said we were right in it last night. The umpiring did have an impact but I cannot categorically say it decided the overall outcome.
As I said its all good. 10 points v west coast is a good result when we given no chance with more key players returning each week now

Not always, smashed them by 10 goals at a ground where we normally get looked after and still couldnt win the free kick count against them ;)
