PRE SEASON and ROOKIE drafts - Tues 13/12/11

(coverage on the AFL website from 10.30am SA time).

GWS have the first 6 picks assigned to them although its been speculated they probably won't use all of them. It will be interesting to see what selections they do make.

Port are likely to select Gavin Urquhart from NM with their PSD pick and will probably be hoping Darren Pfeiffer is available with their first rookie selection.

Freo have committed to take Zac Dawson, whilst Richmond are likely to take John McCarthy.

SANFL clubs will be anxiously waiting to see which of their players are selected in the 2 drafts, as well as who becomes available to recruit for season 2012.

So im guessing no-one is taking Fevola? No clubs looking at leaving any rookie spots open and sneakily picking him up in march if he proves how committed he is?

I don't think any club will take Fevola, too risky, although in saying that perhaps a club may surprise like Richmond did with Cousins.

I think he'll be picked up.
If I was Fev, I'd be talking myself up.
However, he's basically said he's got no chance to be picked up.
I reckon one of the AFL clubs has committed to him and told him to spit out those lines about going to the NFL.

They need a key forward and I think Hird would be seriously considering him. Rookie him with a clause in his contract, one problem your out.

Port - the suicide club - even their sponsors go bankrupt. ;)
So it seems plausible..
