General Pre-Season Talk 2011/2012

Postby hearts on fire » Wed Nov 23, 2011 5:18 pm

With the draft tomorrow, pre-season will be well and truely under way in the next couple of weeks with the draftees joining their clubs.

Just wanted to keep a track on all pre-season chat and whats happening around the clubs, injuries, training, rumours and what not.

Pre-season only just starting, so obviously not a hell of a lot happening at the minute, but have heard the last few days that apparently and allegedly (heard this on triple m rush hour) that a AFL player has been caught with substance in an overseas training camp.... didn't go into to much detail, but has anyone else heard anything about this? They said he was caught and we will hear more about it soon.

also NIck Dal Santo broke his hand and will miss a big chunk of pre-season won't be back till after Christmas and Joel Selwood is going to be named Geelong captain for 2012.

Will that make Joel Selwood close to the youngest captain since Wayne Carey?

Great move by geelong though, blokes got leadership written all over him

I bet Nick Dal Santo wished he broke his hand during last year's pre-season.

So how many clubs are going overseas/have already gone.

Kangaroos & Gold Coast already been to the US, Carlton been to Abu Dhabi. Collingwood have left for Arizona. Know the Power are off to NZ & Richmond to Arizona.

Is there any proof these altitude training camps help? Although I believe Richmond's is in Arizona but not altitude based?

Geelong have never bothered and have had as much success as anyone recently.
