No meat loaf pre game....what about half time?

Close the thread, meat loaf has said he will toughen up and play

Don't think it was his call, think it was OHS issues that was going to can most of the pre-match.

If Meat Loaf did pull out, I wonder if we can arrange for Helen D'Amico to make an impromptu comeback (I'd put the YouTube up, but somehow I don't think the mods/admin would be too pleased with that )

Apparently on international feeds of the coverage (which kept rolling after 10 went to a break here), Anthony Hudson apparently was heard saying 'Demitreou should lose his job over this' before the mics were quickly muted...

I think afl should forget overseas artists and get a few aussie bands together and let them play for 1.5hrs or so.

It was very ordinary wasn't it. Have a nice retirement meatloaf, the AFL made sure of that.

That was one of the worst live performances I've ever seen, who knew Meat Loaf can't actually sing.

When I first glanced at the screen, I wondered why Kim Beazley was doing the pre-match entertainment.

it was like an australian idol audition. ******* hilarious. he was a shocker

Despite being overrated, Meatloaf was a truly gifted singer and performer. He showed glimpses of his former glory when he sang 'All dressed up with no place to go' but attempting to sing 'Bat out of Hell' was clearly over reaching as his voice is GAWNSKI. Bat out of hell is a nine minute Mammoth of a song and if you listen to the recorded version he holds a great note for a long time at the end of the song. Luckily for the Meat that female backup singer had some chops.

However, people complaining about 'old farts' and wanting Australian talent and then nominating AC/DC as the preferred performer have an innate gift for comedy. AFL, get the young Aussie rockers up on stage...those with vocalists who have some power left.
