Come off it, umpiring was terrible to both sides. As a neutral who hates Collingwood i didnt think they were favoured by the umps. Both sides copped poor decisions

Hawks missed plenty of opportunities to win this game. Umps had nothing to do with the result. If you don't put good teams away they punish you. Bad kicking aside, Hawthorn were fantastic tonight and showed a lot of courage over this season to get as close as they did.

Amazing to think that minus Roughy and to a lesser extent Gilham, that the Hawks were 2 minutes from playing in a Granny - No consolation to their supporters I know, but they have been super brave this season.

Unfortunately not an isolated incident for the Hawks recently, even thinking back two weeks ago v Geelong, dominated the first quarter for very little scoreboard advantage.

Set shots at goal cost us a spot in the GF, as much as I too yelled at the TV with the Luke Hodge possible high contact with 90 seconds to go

I reckon some of youse need prescription glasses
I have a sMALl investment on CO winning the flag this year, so was naturally barracking for em
I only saw the last quarter
CO clearly benefitted from some decisions in front of goals

How on earth anyone could say the umpiring made no difference is beyond me
Umpires are too often match winners in close games

I desperately wanted Hawthorn to win, and I did think there were a few questionable decisions towards the end of the game, but I did think that the reason Collingwood won was because they were quite a bit more desperate when it mattered, and Hawthorn stopped in the last 15 minutes.

Absolutely it is no consolation because that could well be the last time i ever get to see my side that close. Some take it for granted that their side will get their again but being realistic who knows. Might be 10 to 20 years (or more) before they get back there and l doubt i have that long. The Hawks had their chances and should have put the game away and played in a GF. Pies did what good sides do and stole a win when they were outplayed. Good luck to the Pies and whoever they play next week.

mal your talking out your are$e, what frees didn't Collingwood get in front of goal in the last qtr that resulted in goals & the win?

The decisions made in the vicinity of each teams goals were costly for HW but not co$tly for me

Davis goals, Gibson held in the goalsquare, goal should have been disallowed
Hodge should have been paid a too high in front of goal, called play on
Franklin taken high in a marking contest, should have been a free kick
A Cloke kick looked out on the full, but a HW player apparently touched it whilst in play, resulted in a throw in and CO goal to Shaw
Buddy kicks a freak goal HW lead again
Dawes pushed in back, no free in front of goal, but made no difference as Ball kicks the winning goal shortly after
90 seconds left Puopolo tackled highish , pinged holding the ball in front of HW goals, very very very iffy decision

There were a dozen decisions that were incorrect in this quarter, mostly favoring CO

CO never gave up and made their own luck, and in a way deserved to win thru perserverance
BUT
Its hard enough for HW to beat CO fair and square, but very hard when they are not getting the roll of umpiring decisions

In my mind the best team on the night is inconclusive
