Anyone want to have a guess at the time slots the finals matches will be played?
Heading over to Carlton v Essendon and wondering what day they will play.
My money is on
Collingwood v West Coast - Friday night MCG
Carlton v Essendon - Saturday MCG
St Kilda v Sydney - Sat Night ANZ or Etihad, depending who finishes higher
Geelong v Hawthorn - Sunday MCG

it will be this
Hawthorn vs Geelong Friday night MCG Hawks 6 day break and Geelong 7
Collingwood Vs West Coast Saturday Arvo MCG Collingwood 8 days west coast 7
Sydney vs St Kilda Saturday Night Etihad/ANZ both 7 day breaks
Carlton Vs Essendon Sunday Afternoon Carlton 8 day break Essendon 15
This gives everyteam at least a 6 dat break and it gives the teams in the top 4 one extra day break going in to the second week of the finals.

Dunno wouldn't they have the collingwood game on the Fri night and the Hawks v Cats game on the Saturday so the Hawks will be coming off at least a 7 day break?
And even though the Hawks and Cats will probably draw more at the game I'd say Collingwood and West Coast would outdo them in ratings for a Friday night game.

Collingwood v WCE friday night. One team has too have a 6 day break, and it's normally the interstate sides that get shafted.

I don't think they'll give West Coast a six-day break that will include travel. Joker's will be how it unfolds I reckon.

Doesn't the teams that finish in the top 4 play on either Friday night or Saturday night? Not on Saturday afternoon?

Just announced on AFL 360 the finals draw and it is as the Joker stated.
The only interesting one is that if Sydney host a final it will definately be at SCG, good move IMO.
Now i can prepare for the road trip to Melbourne

so your going to watch the blues pump the dons mate lol seriously though the blues and dons have good games but the dons have had the wood on us except for last game....but who ever wins has the lovely task next game of either playing west coast at subi or collingwood at the mcg....i just wonder if ratts will let the dons get away in the first half then swing the changes and the blues will spend the rest of the game playing catch up footy....

Havnt missed an Essendon finals game for as long as I can remember. Good chance we will get pumped but you never know. And yes we would probably have to head to Perth if we win and would get embarassed over there again.
Heres hoping the Saints can soften a few of the Blue boys up

Last year I went to the first 3 weeks and drove for every one of them, was stuffed at the end of that period.
Don't know if I'm up for that* physically this year but the rest of the family is keen.
Me going to the Geelong v Hawks game will probably come down to if North are a chance at making the finals that week or not.
Paid $700 extra for the family this year so if Geelong do manage to scrape into another GF we're assured of seats, if that's not the biggest kiss of death on the Cats I don't know what is!

How is it fair that Geelong have 7 day break and Hawks 6 especially given there is every likelihood the hawks will finish 2nd?
