I realise there is still a month left of 2011 left but I'm interested to see others thoughts on who should stay or go from our current list. Here's mine:

Armstrong: Last 4 weeks will determine spot. If he plays as well as last week he'll stay. If not probably gone.
Callinan: Should get another year
Cook: Gone. Decision making awful.
Craig: probably another year. Needs to get his body right.
Dangerfield: Definite keep. For how long though who knows.
Davis: Gone to GWS
Doughty: Hard decison needs to be made unfortunately. Needs to retire or be delisted
Douglas: Keep but needs to show more.
Gunston: Keep
Henderson: Keep
Jacobs: Definite Keep
Jaensch: Keep. Needs to stay disciplined off field
Johncock: Definite keep
Knights: Trade
Lyons: Heven't seen enough but first year on list so keep
Mackay: Keep but needs to get body right.
Maric: Probably need to keep unless we can lure another ready made ruckman from somewhere. Last month crucial.
Martin: Gone backwards. Getting lots of the ball at Sturt but by all reports he butchers it. Possible delist.
Martyn: First year rookie. Haven't seen enough off him to comment.
McKernan: Keep but may be interest over the border.
Milera: All the talent but doen't look like he wants to commit. Gone
Moran: Gone
Otten: Keep
Petrenko: Keep
Porplyzia: Shoulders stuffed but need to keep
Reilly: Keep but need more out of him
Riley: Impressive. Keep
Roach: First year rookie. Very slight and still in reserves at North. Probably gone.
Rutten: Keep
Schmidt: Gone. Too injury prone.
Sellar: Gone
Shaw: Gone. 2 years on list.
Sloane: Keep
Smith: Keep
Stevens: Retired
Symes: 50/50. May get another chance.
Talia: Huge future. Keep
Tambling: Hasn't been given enough opportunites to play through the middle. Will get another year.
L Thompson: Keep
S Thompson: Best and Fairest by the length of South Road. Must keep.
Tippett: Keep unless Gold Coast are willing to give very early pick. Needs to work better with Walker.
van Berlo: Keep.
Vince: Possible trade if you can get something reasonable for him.
von Bertouch: Probably gone. Hasn't played seniors for the eagles.
Walker: Keep.
Wright: Keep. Has been very good in his games this season.
Young: Gone. Too injury prone.

What are others thoughts?

The problem is that the incoming coach needs to be across each of the players in the squad and to have an opinion on what he thinks that he can do with them. Between the end of the Grand Final and trading week its not a great deal of time for a coach who comes into the AFC from outside the club to get across each player and where he feels he will be able to take that players game.

Yes several players are struggling at the Crows, yet Wundke and Stribling were going nowhere at North Adelaide and Daniel was struggling at the Reserves at Woodville West Torrens, making the move to South and being coached under Ron Fuller has seen each of them in the Best Players at South on a number of occassions and playing much better footy. My concern is that the same could well happen at the Crows with the right coaching.

Personally I think the AFC should be doing its best to lock in the right Coach ASAP so that the list can then be addressed. It would be a huge kick in the guts to de list the likes of Cook for example only to see him flourish at another AFL club.

The other issue that I feel the AFC have done poorly in recent years is the fact that you have to be prepared to trade good players if you want to get good players via trading. If there really are question marks over Dangerfield and Tippet, then both would likely bring in good players in return, the solution does appear farily obvious of what the club needs to do to move forward up the ladder!

Cook couldn't flourish if he was a flower.

I understand where you are coming from but you have to cut some players that havent 'flourished' or shown much at all ie Cook..... risk you take, if they succeed elsewhere so be it but you have to cut deadwood.

The club would know better than anyone if Danger and Tipp were wanting out..... Media makes a story sound good enough to sell papers, they really have NFI

Knights seems rejuvenated under Bickley. I thought he was going nowhere other than the 2012 trade table but he has come good finally.

ya reckon? he is slow, burns the footy and tackles like an 90 year old with a walking frame. (his long kick has gone also) Dont let the 30 stats fool you!!!

ha ha - I have to admit I DID only go off the stats. I couldn't watch the game yesterday due to other commitments. I just thought 30 possessions for him this year is unheard of.

I think Mckernan showed yesterday he could hold down a CHB position if needed. A lot of upside to the big fella and i would be doing everything to keep him.

Armstrong has also showed in the last few weeks how much he has improved, no doubt will get another contract.

No way do we trade Vince, hopefully he can do a preseason this year. Showed again last night his decision making and foot skills are elite. Better fitness will bring consistency.

I cant see us trading much, 2012 will all be about the continue improvement and development of this young list.

Wright, Smith, L Thompson, Tahlia, Dangerfield, Petrenko, Jaensch, Walker, Sloane, Reily, Gunston, Jacobs, Mckernan, Henderson have all showed enough for me to feel confident that we are heading in the right direction.

I agree he has got his hands on it alot more the last few weeks but he gets tackled alot and burns the footy! of those 30 half we probably effective... I used to be a fan of his, but his tackling pressure, pace and long kicking (his former attributes) are gone! if we can get something for him then we should try

I think the main attribute that he has lost that hurts him the most is the long left foot. He was deadly if given any space around the 50m arc in 2009. I have seen him several times in space on 50 this year and he won't even attempt it now, he just looks for a team mate. I guess the question is - can he get it back if he manages an injury free pre-season?

Jaensch is a definite, definite keep, in the first dozen players I'd select with his pace, ball use and creativity. Can also play in most positions. And off field issues are no longer a probelm, he is totally, totally commited now.

I don't think we should trade him either but to get good players/draft picks you have to offer up something good. Unfortunately he falls into that category.

It shows Craig didn't deserve to be mercilessly mocked when he talked about an 'exciting' list.
He knew the potential was there, his downfall was squeezing the life out of the side with an overly conservative approach.

Yesterday showed how a (still) ordinary side injected with enthusiasium can really push a very good side not quite in full gear.
The 2012 coach needs to clear the dead wood and work on improving skills and decision making that cost us the game yesterday.

He said in the post match interview on Triple M he is going no where and in talks with his manager and the Crows ATM.

Good thing about blokes like Knights, Maric, etc getting games and playing well is their Trade Value will go up...

Agree with people on Knights' game. First half butchered it something chronic, wasn't alone there with Wright turning it over 4 times going I50. Both improved in 2nd half though...

Agree with most of your comments on the players. Blokes like Schmidt, Symes, etc will get another gig because you need depth on your list for cheap. 5 or so blokes that you know aren't in your best 22 but they can come in and do a job when required.

Nah get rid of them. A waste of list space and have nothing to offer the club
Petrenko has saved his hide with the new found confidence he has on the field. He is starting to become a very important part of this club.

My feeling for Schmidt, Moran and Sellar still applies.

As for Petrenko, I guess people saw the number 23 and was hoping for another McLeod.

Have seen little criticism of Armstrong??
