they need to play Reilly. the kid would be chomping at the bit to get a gig. hard nosed midfielder who can use the ball well (from what i have seen). good way to make a name for yourself.

Not really a fan of Maric getting another run. Mind you he can't do any worse than Moran.

Personally I would've brought back McKernan. He's had a reasonable year considering the teams fortunes and I'd like to see him play out the season in the seniors personally. Again, he can't do any worse than Moran. He had a good last quarter for South today so hopefully he'll get the call up next week.

Well, I was wrong about Maric, he was actually very good today I thought.

So many basic changes that worked today. Dangerfield back in the middle, 2 rucks with one resting forward, hard tackling, a leading forward marking and actually converting his set shots. Where has this been all year?!

Perhaps things were just getting too complicated for the young fellas.

Very pleasing to see a little flair in Adelaides game. Tory Sloane ran the switch like an an registered dog, took the game on and whilst we made mistakes regulary, they were mostly made through long kicks and not in short, this giving time to defensively set up.
Keep in mind we need to improve far more next week for the same result.

Hit the nail on the head LK. The only way last nights win is going to mean anything is if we go up to the GABBA and have another convincing win over the Lions. The changes were what was needed weeks ago.
It was good to see our consistent players were again good but, it was the likes of Knights, Maric, VB (even though still needs to do a lot more), Gunston and a few others played some very good football.
You put that with the noticeable increase in output of Vince and Dangerfield (isn't it amazing when you play someone where they are meant to be playing) and there are good signs for the future.
My only disappointment was Aiden Riley didn't start the game in the midfield ;)

Very pleasing performance yesty, was great to answer some critics but lets not forget it was against a rabble of a side.

Was great to see a few players continue improving. Biggest one for me was Gunston, i have been sceptical of him but he showed he is up to it. Needs to perform against a good side though.

Van Berlo played a captains game, busted his nut. We can't expect much more from him as a player than what he showed last night. If he does that week in week out we will be much better off.

Knights for me was very dissapointing, very ineffective for the amount of times he got the footy. Against a better side his disposal by foot would kill us as the turnover would end up straight down the other end.

Much improved games from Vince, Reilly, Walker and Doughty.

Smith, Sloane, Petrenko, Jacobs, Gunston all improviong week by week.

I think he will get a week. Not a reasonable spoiling attempt IMO. Bent arm (elbow to back of head) medium contact and intentional !

Great to see the boys lift and great atmosphere especially in our crows dominated area. next year port 8)

now we just need to get rid of Bickley and we might be starting to get somewhere

Thought Sloane or Johncock were our best personally.

I was disappointed with Hartlett's Supercoach score. Thought he was easily the hardest worker and best ball user on the ground.

That said, quality performance. Had seats in bay 119, amongst the Port cheer squad. Some poetic justice with the amount of wooden spoons getting handed out throughout the last term.

Jack Gunston's best game of AFL football. I have been critical on him in previous weeks but saw some great signs on the weekend and he got better as the game went on!
