http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 6079882161Might be heading home, Essendon and Richmond are keen, but heck I be carlton would be keen as hell as well. Well its not a definite but its the old contract talks off to the end of the season, spells bad it always does.
Port Should start looking at what they could get for him, which in my opinion is probably something decent, not top line of cousre but definitly a bit to work with.

Pretty sure from memory Kane Lucas lives with Trengoves parents so there's kind of the link....

Would be ******* spewing if he went home. IMO the kind of player a side can be built around, many years ahead for him, can play at either end of the ground and ruck as well, would want something pretty good in return. Hope it's just a ploy for a bigger contract.

I doubt it mate. I heard he was pretty close to leaving at the end of last year with the Richmond link then. I think he is all but gone.

What's the Richmond link? I'm a Port supporter and I too think he's gone, but I tend to think Richmond wouldnt be his first choice, I tend to think Carlton or Essendon is more likely.

I know we cant afford to offer big money ( or any money! ) to players, but Trengove must be kept. We should do everything we can to keep this bloke.
Tall, mobile, skills, tough as an old boot. Got a bit of a man crush on this bloke.

Your attraction to this player is a physical one. Talk to the man in his new jumper and you'll soon see you have nothing in common.
Wow Barney that's realy insightful. How'd you come up with that?
It was on this napkin.
Trust me, you won't like him so much running around in Tiger colours. Reading this sort of stuff makes me a bit relieved we didn't turn into the Bluelegs.

Surely there has got to be plenty of space in the cap, esp with Studley leaving seasons end. If they are having trouble fitting his contract under the cap there must be an awful amount of over paid under achievers at Port!
When he said "After talking to my Manager and my family when back in Melb" made me think he is dead set gone...

We did hear the same about Salopek and Boak in recent season though.

Worth hanging on to?
Struggling to get a kick at Glenelg.
Boak is a very good player

These days the Richmond footy club would be a relatively attractive proposition for any decent young up and coming player

More attractive than 5 years ago perhaps but I can't see them being a better proposition than Carlton, Essendon etc. I also don't think they'll be premiership contenders within the next 5 - 7 years (not that I'm saying Port will be either).
Unless Richmond is offering a huge contract, I'd be surprised if he finished up there.

I wouldn't have thought Richmond were that far behind them in terms of Premiership windows .. They probably have more space in their cap too you would imagine.

Essendon are rubbish. One man team. They've played out of their skins so far this year but have the same amount of wins as Richmond and Melbourne two teams they are supposed to be miles ahead of.
Richmond and Melbourne have more to look forward to IMO.

I guess my point is that the only thing linking him to Richmond is the fact they want him.
I believe he was an Essendon supporter as a kid, and there are some family links to Carlton too as well I think.

How much of the cap are Port using?

4-6 years I think we will be right up there. We need a key back (trengove) and a number 1 ruckman (bellchambers) and we are set
I actually hope we don't go too hard for him. Would love to see us chase Talia. Get him onto a 2/3 year deal, this bloke has massive talent, but not getting a game at crows to injurys etc:

I think Richmond will be a top 4 chance in 2013.
