Poor bloke, I think he had some good footy still left in him! We have missed him this year.

His efforts at AFC cant be under estimated, his ability to play FWD and kick goals or play in defence was a great luxury for the coaches.

Well done Stevo

It's a pity the story is a little brief on the issues he has been experiencing in regards to the concussion.
There's been a lot of discussion about it this year and many old schoolers would be shaking their head at a retirement because of it.
It would be interesting to understand what happens when someone suffers from the after effects of concussion enough to end their career.

Very sad to hear that it has made him have to retire. No one likes to see that in the game of footy.

Personally though while being servicable he wont be part of the next Crows premiership side so as far as develepment go they dont lose a whole lot.

Good Luck Stevens in whatever career path you go down.

Goes down with another Stevens (Mark), as a very under rated player at the crows. Forward / Back. Not a heap of match winning performances, but not many bad games in there either. Good luk mate, could use your experience at the moment though.

On the brighter side, does this give the Crows the opportunity to promote Ian Callinan from the rookie list?

Not suggesting SS isn't genuinely afflicted as a result of his injuries, but I kinda think you might be on to something LMA .. Of course any compensation would be well justified if his quality of life has been affected.

Time will tell I guess, there was a player recently who was seeking compensation for repeated concussions can't think of the name though.

Played very well for the Crows after struggling at the Swans, certainly had the flexibility to play forward or back, which the Crows are missing at the moment.
