Cited for a slinging tackle, had Dangerfield's arm pinned and subsequently, his head slammed into the turf.
Surprised he got weeks to be honest.

"The incident was assessed as negligent, high contact and based on a medical report from the Crows, was also classified as high impact, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match ban."

What is becoming of footy?

One of the reasons Trengove got 2 games was evidence from the Crows medical report, but apparently Dangerfield is ok to play this week.

same thing happened to dangerfield against the dee's at the G a couple of years ago and i think the melbourne player got of. As soon as you pin the players arms to his body and leave the head open to forceful contact you are treading a fine line in the current set up of the AFL tribunal. The AFL have made it clear they will always protect the head and this is just another case of that.

How was Trengove supposed to protect the players head though? He was half on the ground himself. Was just a "tough football incident" as far as I'm concerned. Hope the Dee's fight it. How can it be high contact when the player has hold of his waste? How can it be negligent when the tackle is part of the game?

Such a violent young man. The AFL already has plans to replace the tribunal.

From what I saw tonight, he only had 1 armed pinned. If the head is so precious how did tambling only get 1 week for an elbow/forearm to the back of the head when the player wasn't expecting it? Completely intentional and not in the active play and worth one week, a tackle with an arm pinned in open play and its worthy of 2 games? Something doesn't seem right with that.

The MRP really are looking for any excuse to charge players and justify their postions aren't they?
Seems like it any way.

Hopelessly inconsistent in what they cite and the penalties given, the games deserves better.
Dump them and Gieschen thanks.

It's a joke. You see more dangerous tackles than that in every game, most of them don't even get frees against them.

Very poor suspension given Brown's head high off the ball elbow got a similar verdict delivered on it only 3 weeks ago.

Has anyone seen the bump that Ted Richards got 1 week for  i was watching the incident waiting for it to happen and they replayed it and 'zoomed' in and you still couldnt see anything wrong with it.
