Round 1 v Collingwood (also joint major sponsor announced)

Big game for the club on Saturday afternoon against Collingwood.

I really hope under Primus they start to show some good signs, and also demonstrate that they have moved on from Choco's game plan. 4 competitive quarters is the very least i'm hoping for.

Being realistic, it would be a massive upset if we won. If its a fine day I'd expect Collingwood to win by about 7 goals.

The club has announced today it has a new joint major sponsor, so hopefully this will give the players a big lift for Saturday

I expect a lot from Schulz, Boak, Carlile, Chaplin and Brogan to get us started.

Not alot of hope to be honest against the best in the business but I think we will, and hope, we will no longer allow sides to run over us.

Collingwood by about 40 points.

Those blokes are definitely keys as is Westhoff, who tends to play poorly or particularly well. I'm also hoping for big seasons from Gray and Hartlett.

My hope is for 4 competitive quarters. Reading pre-season reports suggests alot of emphasis has been placed on defensive pressure, which put into play will eliminate teams piling on the goals.

In saying this i know where my team is at, and coming up against an outfit like the pies im not expecting us to get close, im just after improvement from the younger players and hopefully the start of a healthy season from our highly skilled players in boak, gray and hartlett.

Pies by 36-48.

Im gonna be a contrarion (?) and pick Port by 3 points. My reasoning is because im drinking bourbon and thinking **** it we can do it...

Realistically probs not get within 30-40.

Cant wait to see hartlett, Boak, Gray, Salopek all play in the same side.

Hartlett not named. No C Cornes or D Motlop either.

O'Shea, Pittard and Irons all named in 22 to make their debut.
