Heard from a friend involved in melbourne media a few months ago that Foxtel would have a huge part to play in the new TV deal, I laughed it off and told him it wont happen. To my suprise I have now heard that Foxtel will be showing 7 of the 9 games live, free to air will get Friday and Saturday nights only. I believe Foxtel will offer the rights to some matches to the commercial stations but they wont be live. Effectively without foxtel you will only be able to see a couple of live games a week and a couple of delayed matches each week. Not sure about Crows/Power as I believe it is some sort of deal to show them live on commercial stations for away matches.

I'm happy cos I'm sick of FTA stations butchering the football.
Actually I'm happy cos I'm sick of FTA stations any sport.

So that would mean 1 live game a week as Friday nite is rarely shown live.
It won't happen anyway. Half the games will be on free to air as they are now.

Yes FTA will have the options to buy the rights but they wont be live in most cases. I think sundays will be the worst day, how many times this year did we have to endure crap movies before getting a delayed game at 3:00? At least now Foxtel will run a dedicated footy channel and where there are two live games head to head they can offer the viewers choice setup.

Had fox last year so it didn't worry me, but can understand how it effects people who can't afford Paytv.

It's not just cost. I live in a strata complex where it's just not feasible to install.
It took years just to get people to agree on the installation of a TV antenna on the roof and cabling in the building just to get decent reception for FTA, got buckleys of getting Foxtel in here.

Hearing that channel 9 are going to put in a very late deal to trump the others. Channel 9 to show 4 LIVE games a week and fox to have all others live. Every game, every week live you beauty

Dennis sunk too an all time low the other night. Called Dane Swan the "Assassin of Hope".
And Bruce said Liam Jurrah was "just scary". Why Bruce, he's just a footballer.

That after he called Nic Nat an "excotic beast" early in the year.

Denis is still gold, but McAvaney still annoys the sh!t out of me with isi questions during every statement.
"was a great kick by X, wasn't it? Hit Y straight on the chest"
"great game of footy, isn't it? Scores tied with 30 seconds to go"
etc etc etc etc - 40 to 50 times a game.........gggrrrr.

For starters I'm not in Adelaide. Satellite connection only around here and living a strata complex, it aint going to happen. I'd be connected by now otherwise.

The headline of an article in todays Tiser (presumably from Herald Sun) is likely to annoy a lof of SA footy fans "FINALLY, THE FOOTY'S GOING LIVE ON TV", but then the closing paragraph says "Times and live games may be different in Adelaide".

LMAO "The Federal Highway Commission has ruled the Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving."
Also LMAO- if 75% of Adelaide is covered by cable I'll eat my hat! Been in 2 places that are satellite only...

Nothing wrong with their technology, it's the sore arse you get for being screwed on price that's the issue ...
