I was brought up in the western suburbs and taught to hate Port Adelaide. So to this day I do but I don't really know why.
Naturally I hate Port Power. Next to watching an Essendon premiership, the best GF I ever saw was when Geelong flogged the Teal Blues. I also hate Collingwood because before the Power came into view the 'Woods were the enemy. Then Eddie took control and I reinforced my dislike for those black and white buggers.
I know I am going to be visibly upset when I read on here people insulting Essendon but I'll survive.
...by the way, Crows are defintely my second team. The only time I dont barrack for them is during Essendon games

Hate:

Gold Coast Suns- they stole Gaz.
Hawthorn- 2008 Premiership
Port Power- The Crows were THE SA Team, and that got taken away.
Collingwood- Duh.

I think "hate" is too strong a word, as I am not emotion dominated, but I have a negative attitude to St Kilda.
This came about during my years in Melbourne hearing the Melbourne football media constantly running them up the flag pole as the great while hope that will prevent a non-Melbourne team winning the "AFL" flag.

I am a bit more emotional about disliking the Port Adelaide Magpies because of their history of winning under Fos Williams partly by deliberately maiming opposition players. and because of their double dealing about entering the VFL behind the backs of the other SANFL clubs who had stood together to resist the VFL capturing the game.
The greater emotion is attached because my dislike arose when I was a child, and more idealistic about the idea that sport was about skill, not brutality, winning.

I have mixed feelings about he Power, made more negative when they identify themselves with the Magpies.
I've tended to support them against the Melbourne teams.

Hate collingwood and carlton but as old enemies I respect them because at end of the day they back it with premierships.
My most hated team is the adelaide cows, as a norwood member i even barrack for port against them in showdowns. Adelaide get an armchair ride by the media in this state and i just cant stand them.

Collingwood and Geelong, more recently because of their success but most of the time its just because i have mates that go for them and they dont shut up. Don't mind the power will often find myself barracking for them during games.
Hate the port magpies with a passion though, goes back to when i was a kid at the 98 grand final and some 4 foot nothing midget lady tipped her beer over my head after the final siren. apparently i was being to loud or something....

Sorry MP but this is an absolute pet hate of mine. Port Power is NOT their name anymore, it's the Port Adelaide Power, Port Adelaide, the Power or just Port, NOT Port Power.

I don't "hate" any team. Life's too short for that sort of thing.

crows- more so because of there no idea supporters and they fact they cuddle in an ice bath
sydney- cause they dont try to win the game they just bore the opposition to death
collingwood- goes with out saying

I don't like Adelaide at all. I read Psyber's post about St Kilda, and it seems to ring true with Adelaide, IN Adelaide. They're forever talked up and haven't delivered anything. My wife, an Adelaide supporter thinks, when I met her (living in Melbourne) I did sort of support Adelaide and can't understand why I've turned around to hate them (or as Psyber correctly points out, a non emotional response is that I don't like them!). She reckons its cos "Once I got in her pants I wasn't worried about what the Crows did". What Crows? Seriously though, I'm sick of the attention that Adelaide get here. I'm glad when they're rubbish because my mates have to some how back them up and it's easier to pick holes in their argument.

I can't stand Port. See Adelaide response above re: media expectation. When I was a kid at primary school in the 70's, Sturt might beat Port occasionally. All Port supporters would come back with was "how many premierships have you won?". Which SH!T me to the eye teeth. Pathetic response. Proudly, I've never used it when Carlton have been beaten in the AFL. I just don't see it as a valid response in a conversation about who won what, when. If any Carlton supporter happens to say it, I berate them accordingly. Hence I'm not seen on Bigfooty often because I'd be constantly berating my own "supporters".

Pretty much all other teams I can deal with.
