He wants to be traded to a Melbourne based club so who would be interested and what would be a fair trade?

How about:

St Kilda - Stephen Milne
Hawthorn - Shane Crawford (has been linked to a Sydney trade a few times before)
Collingwood - Alan Didak
Western Bulldogs - Nathan Eagleton
Carlton - Nick Stevens
Essendon - Mark Johnson
North Melbourne - Jonathon Hay
Melbourne - Phillip Read
Richmond - Kane Johnson
Geelong - Darren Milburn

Any thoughts?

Could have a similar discussion about the likes of Gardiner, Hay, Polak, Nick Davis, Thurstans etc. The year of the Bad Boy Bubbys perhaps?

How about:

St Kilda - Stephen Milne Possibly
Hawthorn - Shane Crawford (has been linked to a Sydney trade a few times before) I like this one
Collingwood - Alan Didak No chance Pies will get rid of him
Western Bulldogs - Nathan Eagleton Not bad
Carlton - Nick Stevens I would keep Nick Stevens even though he leads the "I hate Pagan" fan club
Essendon - Mark Johnson Dons would love that trade!
North Melbourne - Jonathon Hay  Are you serious here?
Melbourne - Phillip Read  Ok, this is a joke right?
Richmond - Kane Johnson Richmond won't do this
Geelong - Darren Milburn Geelong won't do this

Any thoughts?

REB - just tossing a few names around for DISCUSSION - who would you submit as a possible Geelong trade for Akka if they could be persuaded to take him?

I agree - Didak will stay put, Hay was a joke and Richmond and Geelong won't in all likelihood trade these two but are they win-win trades?

Can't see anyone parting with much of longer term value for him ... Think Melbourne, Richmond and Collingwood would be preferential for him, but probably a good fit with the Doggies or Cats too

Not welcome at the Pies.
If Collingwood recruit him, I'll buy a membership, then ring up & cancel it!

Catter Thompson has stated recently that he doesn't want Gardiner of Akka at Geelong. We already have a 'player power' culture down at the club and getting these two would be a disaster.

As for Darren Milburn, I reckon he would be one the last players that Geelong would consider moving on. Dasher is a great mark for his size, has mongrel in him and can play forward or down back. In a stronger side he could have made it as a midfielder in his younger days but we couldn't stop the goals so he was stationed down back.

As for Kingsley, I strongly believe he will end up at Essendon. Maybe not, but here's hoping! Realistically though, Geelong will keep him next year while the son of a gun develops (That's Hawkins, not Nablett).

shock anouncement, sheedy declares his interest in Aka

St Kilda - Stephen Milne - I do not rate too much of a front runner
Collingwood - Alan Didak - Pies have proven they will not offer Didak as trade bait, I would offer Rocca, he is lazy and unfit
Western Bulldogs - Nathan Eagleton - He has had a pretty good year
Carlton - Nick Stevens - is a better player with some tough inside midfielders feeding him
Essendon - Mark Johnson - I do not rate
North Melbourne - Jonathon Hay - who will want him, has not got a kick for 4 years
Melbourne - Phillip Read - don't rate
Richmond - Kane Johnson - would love him back as a crow but he would be untouchable at tigerland
Geelong - Darren Milburn - one of few players that bring toughness at cat land, wont be traded

One thing I have learnt over the years re trades, only about 1% of rumoured trades get done, their is a lot of talking and not much dealing........

One interesting factor this year will be some crows players value would of risen considerably in the past 18 months, players like Mattner, Massie, Doughty, it will be interesting to see ADELAIDE'S strategy, do they trade for high picks
