Heard Eddie on melbourne radio claim that GWS has already had deals done with Tom Scully, Taylor Walker, Marc Murphy, Dane Swan and Jimmy Bartel. Pretty awesome additions and even if only half of them are true, with the kids they have got they will hit 2012 flying. Can see them being alot more competitive in their first season than Suns.

Will not leave Geelong. Unlike Gaz jr. Jimmy knows where he will make money if he stays at the Cats. With Gaz gone it has freed up some coin for the rest of the group.

Interesting that he's declaring that one of his own club's players has gone. Probably a mind game from the multi-chins.

Bit of speculation re Murphy, but the kid didn't want to play in Brisbane, can't see why he'd want to play in the west of Sydney, but hey money talks, and if he signs I hope he gets smashed when Carlton play 'em....

How can a club president claim this???? it just places unfair scrutiny on the mentioned players for the speculation of where they will line up for next season. As per usual I suppose the AFL will sit on their hands because of who it is

As a club president of the club of one of the players mentioned, that, IMHO, is treading a very fine line with tampering with the process of GWS signing players - places further undue pressure on Swan.

Yeah but Eddie was talking as the "TV - Radio Host" not as a President.
Remember no conflicts of interest........

Tom Scully's deal is reported to be worth $6m! for a 3rd year player at time of inception for GWS that is a huge number for a bloke that is is unproven at this stage. The kid can play but $6mill....

Then what would Melbourne get as compensation? It sucks the way this can happen.

Guys taken as priority picks are given to clubs who are struggling, they should be made to serve a minimum 4 year period before being able to be traded.

This is just a taste of things to come.
I reckon free agency within 2 years and salary cap scrapped within 10 years

Priority picks are a sham and should never have been handed out at all.

salary cap will stay the afl wants to have a system when teams going through cycles of been at the top part and bottom of the ladder.
also it avoids the clubs with bigger pockets able to have all the star players and therefore only they can win the premiership. while clubs at the other end of the scale will be fighting just to get into the top four and this will be consider like a premiership.
of course some clubs are better at remaining competitve and staying in the finals even when they premiership window is over and avoiding the complete rebuild.

I can see the salary cap being scrapped. One day some club with some balls will stand up to the the afl and take them to court. The cap is a sham and a blatant restraint of trade. Demetriou keeps saying the afl clubs are business' now, well how about treating them like one. I dont know any other business in the world that cant pay their staff what they think is reasonable pay. All successful buisness' recruit the best staff from other other companies, should be the same in the afl.
Yes the big clubs get bigger but thats the way the world works we are not communists!!!!
Sooner they scrap this farcial cap the better

Im sensing a very disgruntled Essendon supporter who is trying to blame the AFL for his clubs on field predicament.
How bouit having a look at your recruiting and appointment of Knights.

No mate nothing to do with our poor form or that joker knights. Been through some great times at the club now just have to ride out the bad ones.
Been lucky to attend 4 winning gf's and 1 losing gf so i guess im lucky. Could be worse i could support saints or dogs
Just all for free agency and scrapping of cap, players should be able to go where they want.
Buddy would look good in bombers colours though
