 The public are the people who buy memberships....and in fact you could have all the world be members, so there is never a "cap" on memberships.

Are you saying season ticket holders RC or members? Im thinking season ticket holders.

From the AFC website:

A limited number of Crows season ticket memberships are now available to the general public.

Season tickets have been subject to a waiting list for over 15 years but now - due to extra capacity provided by a reconfiguration of the Members Reserve - we are pleased to make a strictly limited number of tickets available.
The Club has written to all fans on the season ticket waiting list and anticipates that take up will not be sufficient to cover the extra capacity. Therefore up to 1,000 seats are being made available to the general public on a first in, best dress basis.

Silver season ticket membership includes entry, with reserved seat to all 11 home matches during the season and includes a great range of other membership benefits including:

• Membership Card
• AFC Member’s bumper sticker
• Lanyard and ticket wallet
• AFC Member’s keyring
• Weekly e-mail update
• Subscription to The Pride magazine (2 editions, one per household)
• 2011 Fixture magnet with times (to be mailed with magazine)
• 10% discount at CROWmania on presentation of your membership card
• 20% discount on meals at the Checkside Tavern
• Free entry to Member’s Day
• 19th Man Award Voting
• Free Transport to AAMI Stadium via metro Footy Express bus services
• Priority access to a finals ticket (weeks 1-3) if AFC is competing
• Discount on Westpac Centre guided tours

Not sure mate. I didn't catch the story last night. There hasn't been a waiting list for season tickets for the last couple of years. I got mine pretty much straight away last year.

I think a lot of the oldies might be giving up their tickets, which I'm not too sad about personally. Finally realising that they can't have 97/98 every year, and to be a fair dinkum supporter you actually have to watch and accept your team when they're bad as well as when their good. Plus they can't yell out 'Go Goodie' and 'Go Macca' anymore.

Hopefully the two old biddies who sit up from me with those fricking clappers have moved on.

The article states its due to a membership re-confirguration.

Not due to its the lowest membership take up they have ever experienced.

Thus I re-asked if what the sports report said was true ????

You can be a member but not a season ticket holder, so that membership number always fluctuates based on people who sign up without getting a season ticket.

The issue is they've now had to wait longer than usual for season tickets to be sold out, so they've had to actually promote it to the public. They'll sell them all as usual, just won't be a matter of calling some of the waiting list this time.

72 hours later the 1000 season tickets are not sold out.

The Crows are like Players Bar / Planet.

ALl that in the 90's but now people just dont care anymore.

Well the promotion of Port of late (creed and all that one club stuff) does not bode well for getting memberships or supporters with no affiliation to the puffs. You are annexing any neutral person by constantly drawing on your past history. You have one base to draw from where as the 'team for all south australians' can still draw on those who have no affiliation with port. Worry about your own team and its short comings before getting stuck into Adelaide. End of rant.
