Congrats to Mark Ricciuto on bringing up his 300th game this weekend. Would have to rate as one of South Australia's greatest ever footballers and certainly the best footballer the Adelaide Crows have had (not counting Wayne Carey). Would have been a great player in any era and has truly got the respect of the footballing nation.

Hang on! Is Ricciuto playing his 300th game this weekend? One would have thought the media would get on board such an event and promote it a little better....

*Disclaimer* I truly admire the guy's ability and the way he plays the game,a player for all era's.But really.....turn it up.

No REB,my disclaimer is genuine, the "turn it up" bit relates to the amount of media coverage this has received here in Adelaide.Front page to back.

I think he means the media coverage.
Over here it's got a bit but not what you'd get in Adelaide. The worse we ever got here was when Justin Madden played his 300th game back in 1995( or was it 96?). It seemingly went on forever you would have thought the guy was the only player to have played 300 games (and was the greatest player the game had ever seen).

No Doubt he is the best player that has pulled on the hoops for the crows !!!

It will take an extreme talent to ever be rated better than him when he retires !!!

Well done Roo - keep on smashen them !!!

What Media coverage ?????

About 4 or 5 years ago I seriously thought the Crows should have traded the Roo, believing that he hadn't performed to any special level for quite a while at the time, and that he would command good value on the market ... Well I've been eating my humble pie quite regularly since then ... The bloke has been, and still is a champion footballer, and hopefully achieves everything he desires in his remaining playing days ...

Ah yes, I'd had quite forgetton about SA *ahem* journalism. The writing was on the wall as soon as The News went down.

Great player but more importantly a very nice bloke, was lucky enough to sit next to him at a preseason dinner earlier this year and he was very easy to have a conversation with and at times a conversation straight from the Front Bar of a pub!

Having said that now as a Kanga's fan and going to be there, I hope and pray that we beat them! although with all the media coverage it hasnt been mentioned anything about the game itself or who they are playing...there could be a miniscule chance of them taking their eye off this game and us ambushing them...please, please, please...

Roo is a great ambassador to the local Greyhound industry.

You just have to admire the way Roo plays the game, Hard and in the right spirit, he has skill and is the BEST Captain in the comp by a long way.....

Premiership player, Club B&F on multiple occassions, Comp B&F, All Australia half dozen times, All Australian Captain, all that awaits is Premiership Captain......

In my mind the most valuable player to have worn the crows tri colours

All the best

How far do people think that Roo has ran? As in games (including pre-season games, Westies (from 17s and up)), training and so forth. I reakon about 5000 - 6000kms.

I just feel sorry for the kids up the riverland who will be mown down in his path if he returns to Waikerie like he says he would like to once he's finished at Adelaide.

I would be honoured to be flatened by the Roo, just so I know what it feels like to be hit by a road train

on a more serious note congrats to the Roo for reaching this milestone game

Roo is a true champion of the game (and Im a Geelong/North fan so there's no bias there).
A credit to the state, and IMHO easily the best player for the Crows.
Probably in the best 20 players to come from this state.

At the risk of having my house burnt to the ground...
Roo is a very good player.
Champion? Not so sure.
He would be up there with the very good players (near the top), but I'm loathe to use the term champion. It gets used & thrown about to easily.
In my generation, the (AFL) Champions would be-
Tony Lockett, Gary Ablett, Greg Williams, Wayne Carey & Dermott Brereton.
Current would be Buckley.
Still a way to go- Judd.

I may be considered harsh on my judgements, but as I said, these guys are the creme de la creme.
I'd rate McLeod ahead of Roo at the Crows, not by much, but ahead.

As I said- Roo is a very good player, & a very good captain, but let's not be encouraged into premature adulation, by the Crows Newsletter.
