Didn't really rate him as a coach before 2007-2010 (and with the list he had, anything other then at least one flag would have failure), after this dont rate him much for his ethics. disgraceful, especially after the heat he put on Ablett during the year and all the diatribe about loyalty and the like.

Not too sure why he had to bullshit us all but he did have a major say in helping to develop a squad that ended our premiership drought. While Bomber has proven himself to be an excellent teacher of young men I'm not sure he can replicate the same sort of growth seeing as Essendon forgot to poach Steven Wells.

REB

So how do you rate his compared to the Ablett defection that got your goat up*?

2 worst kept secrets in the AFL, both involving liar-liar Hird.
How could anyone ever trust that bloke again?
He's definately lost any respect i had for him.
I hope they finish last in 2011.

How must Geelong feel.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the CEO's office.

Bloody Disgraceful Bomber.

How can we believe anything Essendon says in the future...?

Looks like they spent all their cash on their off-field team!

They can always hope Gumbleton somehow develops into a minor hack...

and with GWS already targeting Bartel, cats getting shafted everywhere. Is Tweety somehow involved?

It's unreal isn't it? Those who live by the sword will die by it.

People can bag Knights as much as they like but he had no hope with Hird undermining him.

And still to this day, he has held his head high Matthew Knights. I didnt rate him as a coach, but i have the utmost respect for the way he has handled himself since his sacking,

What a disgrace, he should have taken a year off and then gone where he wants.

Heard this morning the Cats have found phone records of contact back in July, stupid enough not to use a personal phone!

Hird, who was not present at yesterday's announcement, said he was surprised when Thompson showed up at Essendon's training session yesterday morning to accept the assistant's job.

"At 10.30am yesterday, on the middle of Essendon Grammar training ground, it was one of the most bizarre situations I think I've been a part of,'' Hird said.

"We were running a drill, with the players running back and forth, and there's Bomber standing in the middle of the oval.

"I thought 'What's going on?' and he said 'Yep, let's go, let's do it'.''

Bomber must be "refreshed"....

I dont think any at Cat land should hold a grudge against Ablett for what he chose to do as I would say 99.9% of us would have done the same in the same situation.

As for Bomber, I'd expect his invite for the 2017 "10 Year Premisership Reunion Dinner" might just get lost in the post... ;)
