Applaud his courage and desire however I do not know how he will go off-field, seems somethings missing there to me

This bloke played a game of AFL footy with no skin. If that doesn't fire up the Docks nothing will. How can you tell from our shared vantage point that something is missing?

Just from interviews and no one from the footy world ever having commented on his football knowledge or leadership! Most if not all other coaches have media/football players and coaches speaking about them! ie Hird, Scotts, Primus, Voss

All of those you mentioned are head coaches.... and frankly none of them have acheived squat as yet. You don't hear people talking about many assitants at all.

I think a common mistake is people thinking the best players will make the best coach ALA Hird, Voss, Buckley.
It's the not so flashy bloke, bit slower etc with the articulate footy brain that pops up as the successful coach.
*Lethal is obviously just a champion so he is an exception

He has been in a development role with the AIS/AFL, cant think of a better qualified person to be going fresh into a assistant coaching role, do your research next time.

Pipe down, all I said was I had not heard anyone who has talked up McCartney's footy brain/smarts. Don't need research for that, common knowledge and no media attention!

Yep has a very good relationship with the kids coming through the system and the role at the Dockers is perfect for him. I am glad WCE chose Vozzo though.

700+ goals from a centreman means ranga's weren't the only thing he kicked. Lethal = gun.

No doubt. Don't like what he did to Bruns but you can't knock Matthews' footballing ability. I've got a book at home which has none other than Ronald Dale Barrassi stating that Matthews was the best footballer he has ever seen and I reckon he'd have seen a few good ones.
