If true an interesting move...looks like Sanderson wasn't as popular and rated down there as first thought.

Brad has done reasonably well so far so you never know...bit of a risk IMO.

 Wow didn't expect that one. Could be a bit risky for the GFC, only time will tell.

Wow is the word.

Dislike is another word that comes to mind.

Shock is the third descriptive I will use.

Great appointment IMO!

I think he will be really good for the cats! IMO they probably needed a fresh face that will change the side around a bit, move on some older fellas, bring in some youngsters but still maintain success!

I reckon he will be great for the club! Be interesting to see if Sanderson stays on as an assistant!!

Where does that leave sanderson? Bomber groomed him for the job, is it payback for him walking out?
Sanderson might be back at Port

I agree with you CK. I only wish and hope that the fresh approach also applies to list management. An extra year for Milburn suggests otherwise.

Theyve just signed camporeale. I think only port or freo left. He could do a straight swap with chris scott at freo and be under the leadership of another bomber!!!

I think this is a good move. Something new. Sanderson and Hinkley have been around the club. Chris will bring a fresh new look. and will bring some added toughness as well. It will make everyone on the list stand up and have big pre seasons to impress the new coach. I still think the cats will be top 4.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I think Geelong were likely to be top 4 anyway (at the very least top 8 ) but will do better than they would of with a coach whose heart wasn't really in it anymore

Having said that, Chris Scott seems a bold but smart move taking a rookie head coach after such a successful era. To me it shows the club are aware that 2011 is the start of the next era. The safest path would have been Sanderson or Hinkley but they have brought in someone new to steer the new path.

Well done Geelong I reckon this is a great appointment.

There you go boys.

The Geelong Football Club says it regards Chris Scott as the first of a new breed of coach-managers, and his background in IT and sports science were every bit as important as his impressive CV as a player and assistant.

Looks like Geelong have gone for their very own Professor REB. ;)

That's at least 3 Sports scientists now off the top of my head! It's becoming harder and harder to use it as a criticism. Both Scott brothers and Neil Craig. I reckon Buckley is another.

Thus far, Neil Craig is the only one of those who have been "in the system" for a while, and sports science hasn't got any premierships yet- Brad Scott hasn't kicked off too well either...

Bad for us Cat fans... :(
