Chris Judd - Do you like him?

Postby OnSong » Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:20 pm

I used to.
I still have respect for him as a player and his ability, but he is welcome to my AFL players hate list right alongside with John Anthony.
Why?
Watching the Brownlow on Monday night, I was left angered.
Not just because he was an undeserving winner.
It just meant nothing to him.
The highest individual honour a player can receive in the greatest game on earth and he shows no emotion. Barely smiled.
Maybe it's another case of tall poppy syndrome but surely I'm not the only person that feels like this now.
There are two options in the poll to keep everyone happy.

Onsong how can you say cos he didnt 'smile, cry, jumpr for joy' he doesnt care. He isnt an overly emotional guy and his speech was tantastic and any young player should look at the way he conducts himself.

This type of shite was bought up about Ben cousins doco because he didnt 'cry' it means he isnt sorry. Give me a break!

Looks like 4 to me. Shows how relevant this poll is that even the instigator couldn't be arsed spending anytime on it.

Really, it isn't even the off season yet.

Thought his win was very deserved, he was very humble and very surprised which was probably portrayed as 'not caring'

Great speech. Well done
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Ohh boy. Get a ******* clue onsong.

He wouldn't have had anything prepared. Nada.

Then he goes up stage and peanut Quarterbrain, asks the most lame arsed questions you could think of.

Let me guess. If he went up on stage and sang a song and dance, and joked and laughed and carried on in the exact opposite way he did, you'd start a poll saying he's a wanker cos he carried on....

**** it's gonna be a long off season on here......

Just because someone controls their emotions he's supposed to be unlikeable ?? This poll is a joke ---- which box would I tick if I liked them both ?
Judd took it in his stride because he hadn't rated himself a chance. Quality people react like that because in their own mind it's not all about them.

I voted for hating them both because

a) She told him to not shave because his head would look to shiny, and

b) He obeyed

He didn't jump up and down because I think he may have felt slightly embarassed about winning it. As he said, he gave himself no hope. You can't dislike him for winning the Brownlow even though I believe there were more deserving players who should have won. That's not his fault. His speech was good. It was an opportunity for him to bring up the fact that there are people a lot worse off around the place and at the end of the day, winning a Brownlow is nothing in the grand scheme of things when you realise what a lot of people are coping with in in life.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Yeah I have to agree with everyone else here OS.
Judd is my favourite player and he doesn't even play for the Lions.
I thought he was quite humble and shocked that he won it.
Bloody champion footballer and his missus is dynamite!
Although I think she might have been usurped by KB's granddaughter this year! DELICIOUS!!!!

No Booney, I gave you two options to choose two of the four responses. But forgive me for not making that bluntly obvious.

You all have had your say, all good. I just felt he didn't really care about it that much.
Illustrated by rocking up to the press conference without it.
I dunno, there was just no magic there, it left me a little deflated really.
By the way, I contest the statement "deserving winner". I'm no Collingwood fan but if Dane Swan wasn't the best and fairest player this season, I've got the attention to detail of Booney. ;)

I can't understand the amount of conclusions that are being drawn on people based on how they react on camera - Eddie and Dane Swan at the Brownlow, now this about Judd. Ablett's actions during and after Friday's game are being analysed every which way.

Speaking of Ben, how about when they both held the premiership cup and Benny is screaming at the heavens while Judd is just looking around, like he's bored.
As I've said, I respect him as a player and his ability is unquestionable, but hell, he has the personality of a brick wall.
